    Default An Interestin Analogy

    Hello everyone!

I thought of an interesting analogy last night as I stood in my kitchen scratching a bug bite on my foot. As I itched and itched I realized that eating cooked food is like itching a bug bite. Here's how:

First your bug bite itches so you scratch it. At first it feels really good to scratch it but then it makes it worse and it just gets worse and worse. The more you scratch, the worse it gets and it will never heel and go away unless you quit scratching it! The more you scratch, the harder it is to stop scratching.

Eating SAD is like this too. At first, after you go raw, you have a desire to eat SAD food (the initial desire to itch) When you eat that first bite of brownie, fudge or whatever (the first itch) it is good. But then it just makes you want more, or it makes you sick and you get worse and worse (just like scratching a bug bite) If we would just not give in to our cravings (the itch) eventually they go away. But the more SAD food we eat, the harder it is to stop (just like ithcing a bug bite!)

I hope this makes sense to you. I thought about it quite a bit last night and it really makes sense to me. Of course we live in Maine where the mosquito is the national bird! We have tons of bug bites and they are so annoying.

Just thought I'd share this with all of you. I hope it isn't too confusing. :)

    Thumbs up

missionarymamato5, You are SOOOOOO RIGHT ON! That is really really good! Cute too! (national bird! hee hee! ) Sounds like the Yukon. (mosquitos like helicopters)

That is such a great analogy. I am going to use it myself, with your permission, of course!

So now we can all visualize a great big, red, disgusting, infected, disfiguring bite every time we feel like eating SAD.
    Have a great day!

That is a great analogy!!! If you can resist cooked foods for awhile, it really does get easier! Thanks for sharing! :-)

    Thanks!

I thought about it a lot last night. I was hoping that I would be able to explain it so other people could understand too!
