    Default Supplements

Since I am pretty new here, I don't know if this has been asked or discussed before, but:

    1) Do you nice folks take any supplements?

    and if so,

    2) Which ones - what kind??

    Thanks

I take a multivitamin/multimineral and B vitamins. I also have a tablespoon of flax oil in my smoothies.

I may not need the extra vitamins after I spend more time raw, but we'll see how that goes :)

Here are some links that people have previously posted on about various supplements:

I take B12 when I think of it which is not very often. I am having my blood tests this week and interested in checking my B12 anf folic acid levels.

Sport - for B12, you want to check the Methylmalonic Acid (24 hour urine test) and urinary or plasma homocystine. Serum B12 tests are not as sensitive.

For Folic Acid - Formiminoglutamic acid, urinary homocystine tests are best.

This info is from Tired of Being Tired by Dr. Michael Schmidt.

I am getting these tests and others done this week.

I take a lot of vitamins almost every day. I have a bunch stocked up. When I run out, I will go without for a while to see how I do.
As of now, I take: Probiotics, calcium/magnesium, whole food multivitamins, biotin, b complex, flax seed oil, borage oil, and DHA. I think that's all of it.
