Default What do you want to be when you grow up???

I hear people all the time say they dislike their jobs or careers or I hear I don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

So what do you want to be when you grow up?

This makes me laugh, I always say things like "I want to be you when I grow up" or such things.

    My goals are thus:

I want to return to college and complete my degree in nutrition, and also receive certification as a personal trainer. I worked for a few months as a trainer at Curves and I LOVED watching the women reach their goals.

I want to receive my Certification in Raw.

Who knows what will happen but goals are what is important!!!
    HW: 184 pounds
SW: 179.2 pounds on May 23rd
CW: 164.4 pounds (14.8 pounds released!)
    GW1: 170 pounds MET! :p GW2: 160 pounds  Final Goal: 130 pounds

I'm already grown up. What I want to be keeps changing. When I was a young child, it was a nurse. Why? I wanted to give people shots and inflict pain on them like the pain I'd been given.

Next, I wanted to be a ballerina. And I was. But I didn't want to go to NY to turn professional like my teacher pushed me to do at age 12. So I quit that.

Wanted to form a rock band. Did that. Didn't go anywhere with it, but had fun.

Did an assortment of jobs over the years that I didn't necessarily want to do but brought in money. But I also did the things I loved. Such as art, crafts, writing, creating. Mainly I like to create. For years, I was known for my baking and candy making. I could make anything and everthing. I took orders from people. Sometimes I didn't ask for any money. Sometimes I asked for the cost of the supplies. In particular, I loved making hand painted chocolates.

But then I stopped with the baking and candy making. Why? I was diagnosed with diabetes for one thing. I changed the way I was eating. Now granted, I never was a big one for sweets to begin with and didn't really eat this stuff when I made it, except perhaps to take a taste for flavor, texture, etc. But I began to regard this stuff as poison and didn't feel right about making it for other people. Yes, I have done it a few times when someone asks me to. But only then.

I had been asked to teach a tap dancing class for adults and was looking forward to that when I learned I was pregnant. I gave up on that notion after having 5 threatened miscarriages and being placed on bed rest.

More recently, I volunteered at my daughter's school, helping the kids that needed extra help with reading. I also volunteered at her dance studio. I am now disabled due to various medical conditions, so there's not a lot I can do these days. I have to really pace myself. I do enough stuff I don't necessarily want to do, like housework. And due to the fact that I'm disabled, this stuff can take me a lot longer than it used to. So now I spend the rest of my time doing those things I want to do. I still do my writing, and I volunteer with things I like to do and feel able to do.

    Myself.

If I were anything else, that would be a cause for concern.

I'm already that. If you are asking what one wants to do when they grow up, I'm doing that as one can see from my sig. It did take me a long time to come to this. It took years before I found out who I was; then the question came down to ~ how do I want to express that.

    I'm already grown up.

    My childhood is gone.

I am an adult with adult responsibilities.

    I retrospect, I wouldn't change a thing!

There is a time for everything.

    When that season is gone,

    We must say goodbye.

So, live each moment as if it were your last,

    And reach into the sunset

in hopes of a new beginning

    with faith that tomorows' sunrise

    your future will unfold.

When I began raw 3 years ago I was doing a job I disliked and had to quite my career because of my health.

I am happy to say no I have a job that I enjoy, real estate agent and a career as a minister/teacher that I love and now that I am feeling even better healthwise I am planning on increasing my time.

I believe despite whether you are grown up or not, many people don't know what they want to be when they grow up. My mom just recently found out what she wanted to be when she grew up. I think sometimes you think that you may know what it is you want to do, but when you finally do do it. Its not at all what you were expected, so you start dreaming as you did in childhood of what you wanna do when you grow up.

I've wanted to be a pharmacist for close to 6 years. I am 23 now, and my opinion on the pharmaceutical industry has changed immensly over the past 6 years. I still want to be a pharmacist, but not like the typical one everyone thinks of that stands behind a counter in a grocery store. I want to do research regarding stem cells, in addition to HIV and curing AIDS without needing to take 20-30 pills per day. Hopefully I can incorporate more natural methods to resolve these large issues that need to be addressed.

I got accepted to pharmacy school for this fall, now that I know what I want to do, and I got in, I just have to go through the 4 stressful years of studying hardcore, then I'll be allowed to do what I want to do :)

No not really. Just because I've never looked into it. I'd assume that it is healing with herbs. I think somewhat similar to Ayurvedic medicine if I'm correct??? I guess I don't even know what it is

My first focus is getting my doctorate in pharmacology. Once I have that I have a whole world of options in regards to what I want to do from there.

First, I never want to grow up!

If I had to do it differently, I would have been a accupuncturist----a female version of Dr Weil perhaps-----medecine woman walking the fields of wild forests and crafting healing potions.concoctions............. ;)
