    bnananut:
Even if they're not on this board, there should be LOTS of raw fooders in San Diego. Isn't that where rawfood.com is based? Stephen Arlin, David Wolfe and the whole gang? I'm envious that in San Diego you can just pop by their store for any raw food needs! I'm sure they'd have a great resource for finding other raw food folk in the San Diego area as well. Best of luck to you.

    Peace,
    Andrew

    Hi there Bnananut-

I live in Vista, about 45 minutes north from the city. CatherinetheGreat just moved to LA from San Diego- her and I were thinking of getting together and going to Cilantro Live in El Cajon. It's a raw food restaurant that is supposed to be pretty good- I haven't tried it yet, but I think we will do that in March or April if you are interested??? I'd loved to meet another rawbie too

Yes, you are lucky to be fairly close to 'Natures First Law' store- I just ordered over $100 bucks of stuff from them- they have gooood stuff

Anyway, glad you are here and hope to meet you one day!

Hi. Even though I live in Long Beach, much of my family lives in San Diego and I'm there quite often. My mom's in Oceanside, but the others are in Chula Vista which is where Cilantro Live! is, so that's just a 20 minute drive from downtown SD. Definitely, go there and talk to the owner. She's very friendly and would refer you to other raw foodists, I'm sure.

Also, be sure to get and read The Reader. When I lived in San Diego 20 years ago, it's where I got info about vegans and macrobiotics (which is how I ate then) from it. Stop in to the food coop in Ocean Beach to ask them, if you're still having trouble.

To be honest, I think that there's so many resources there, that few people have need of an online forum.

You are in the Mecca of raw foodists!! Enjoy!

p.s. Oh! How could I forget the Optimum Health Center ( of is it Optimum Life?). They have raw retreats -- weeks at a time -- to heal with raw food.

I used to live in San Diego, but we moved away about ten years ago. That's not much help, is it? I wish I lived in a place like San Diego where I could find great food easier!

Hey, I'm from San Diego. I've been high raw for about 2 months now. I have been to Cilantro live (loved it) and enjoy the great produce one can get out here. I tend to shop at Henry's, farmer's markets, and Whole Foods every now and then. There is a new organic store that just opened up in the Banker's hill area called Kung Foods...haven't checked it out yet but I will soon. Where are you in San Diego?

    Default YAY a San Diegan

Hi - I just moved to LA from San Diego. I head down there often for work - and will be down there the weekend of the 26th. We should plan something. Like all of us meeting for dinner at Cilantro Live.
I'd LOVE that. I haven't been there yet.

Maybe Saturday night the 26th we can go????

I have a photo shoot to do until the sun sets so I'll be done by about 5:30

Let me know if we can do a 7pm dinner ?

I just found out there will be a new raw restaurant opening in Hillcrest in the Fall. You are so lucky!

Also - I'm hosting a RAW potluck at my house up in LA the weekend before
    on Saturday the 19th.

So if you want to meet more of the folks on this forum that live in So cal you can come up for that as well.

I'd love to have you over.

Anyhow - I hope you enjoy San Diego. I grew up there - so if you need to know any thing you can private message me if you like.

    Sincerely,

    Catherine

    Bnananut-
I'm in Costa Mesa (Orange co.), so not real close but not too far, either. Dinner at Cilantro sounds like great fun - can I join, too? ;)

    Glad you are here!

I can't make it on the 26th, but keep me updated on future get-togethers. Cilantro live is great...you'll love it. Does anyone have any info on the new place in Hillcrest? Where and when? That's great news.
