Default Are there any natural fertilizers for the garden?

My garden is growing so slowly. I am not used to this. At this rate, I may never harvest anything before it freezes again.

In the past I have used Miracle Grow. Now I am not of course.

I was wondering if you know of any healthy, natural fertilizers?

    Thanks everyone! :)

Yep, liquid kelp, composting, and rock dust are all excellent natural fertilisers, as is diluted (MUST be diluted or you'll kill your plants) seawater. Check out books on Permaculture, by Bill Mollison, for example. Also take a look at OceanGrown.com and AcresUSA.com

    Wow, thanks!

I do use compost but will try some kelp and I love the smoothie idea.

What is rock dust? Well, I mean where do you get? I get the idea of "what" it is. ;)

    Thanks

Your local gardening centre or local quarry should be able to help you with rockdust.

We use compost, but my mom insists in using "fish emulsion" on it all! Does this mean it isn't vegan I hate she does this, but I can't stop her with this one...

It is more than likely that it is what it says.
I have seen one in the garden shop called "blood and bone" and I stay as far away from it as I can.

Aw, that makes me so upset!! I wonder how much will go into my body? How much would it affect my health and raw veganness?

Many organic farmers use animal by products in preparing and fertilizing the soil for our produce.

Bone meal and manure from organic fed animals is "permissable" fertilizer for organic farms. The regulating body isn't concerned with the vegan aspect just the organic aspect.

It is, therefore, evident that it is possible to cure by foods, aliments and fruits; but as today the science of medicine is imperfect, this fact is not yet fully grasped. When the science of medicine reaches perfection, treatment will be given by foods, aliments, fragrant fruits and vegetables, and by various waters, hot and cold in temperature.
