    Default Baby formula??

I am sooo new, I just ordered Alissa's book, and have alot to learn, so the 1st is -- I have an infant 5 months old he nursed with many problems so we went to formula ( which I am trying to find an alternative, I just don't like it ) So, my question is what do I feed him as far as drink? So that he gets calcium and such? Thank you in advance for your wisdom.

    Default formula

Hey, I just found a great formula alternative for my 11 month old but I am still breastfeeding, its just while shes at daycare that she gets the bottle. Homemade almond milk (2cups soaked almonds and 4 cups water blended and strained threw cloth or else it wont go threw nipple) Carrot juice and baby coconut milk. Dont quote me on this because your little one is still pretty young and not breastfeeding which is crucial. Ive heard positive things about this raw family, you can check them out @ www.thegardendiet.com its good stuff. Good luck and blessings.

I supplemented noth my kids with fresh goats milk. I also introduced green smoothies at a year.

Please go to the beginning of this section - press last page - and just start eading all the former posts, I did and was of great help!

    Good luck & well done.

Mom to two raw kids 2 & 6!

BTW Coconut (young thai) water is chemically closest to breastmilk I have read!

    Default A big thank you

for helping me. I'm gonna try the goat milk/carrot/coconut juice combo. So, is goat milk considered raw? For my older children to drink? Eating raw does all the calcium come from veggies? Although I want to eat raw it is a bigger step than I thought to leave conventional thinking about "what is healthy",
    Please bear with me.

If I were you, I would check with the pediatrician before concocting a formula yourself. There's a lot more to it than calcium and a big concern is not giving the kid food poisoning or something that could cause an allergy, like nut milk.

My daughter has a lot of food allergies. We didn't find this out until she was almost 7. She breastfed until she was 10 months but due to a thyroid problem, I wasn't producing enough milk so I had to supplement. Every kind of formula was making her sick though. It was so frustrating. I kept switching and she went from one symptom to another. The Drs. weren't a lot of help. Conventional Drs. seem not to believe there are such things as food allergies, although that seems to be changing slowly.

I started her in on solid foods as soon as I could. Actually she pretty much did that for herself, grabbing things from people's plates and such. And I gave her juice once or twice a day, although no more than one serving of plain fruit juice. If she had another serving, it was a blend of juices including vegetable, like carrot.
