Default How to travel and stay raw?

I am WAAAYYY ahead of myself here; my family (who is not raw) and I are going to Florida in December for about 10 days. We're staying at my in-laws condo, and they would not appreciate sprouters and dehydrators, etc. Obviously, I'll need to keep it simple.

I would like to plan ahead. I am buying a dehydrator next week...I can't wait to make eggplant and use it instead of bread. How long does it last? I'm not sure how crispy you make it, or how long to dehydrate it, or how you store it when it's done. It'd be great if I could bring a bunch of that, and I'm trying to figure out other recipes.

I would love to hear any suggestions.

    Thanks.

    Hi ellenalesa,

There are many posts on this forum that might help you. Here's one found by using the banana (search) icon and searching on "travel raw" -->

That's great that you're mindset is looking forward to December already. By then you'll probably be an expert. If you have a sink in your condo then you'll have all you need. You might also want to take a blender for smoothies. I'd suggest hitting a fresh produce store and stock up on fruit and veggies the first day. That way, you'll have plenty of good food available and you'll be less distracted to eat cooked food.

Sorry, I'm not much help on the eggplant. Back when I was transitioning I did try some eggplant pizza but I didn't care for it too much. To me, raw eggplant didn't taste as good as the grilled, marinated in olive oil eggplant topped with parmesan cheese --- but, alas those days are gone now for me :)

I stayed with friends in Florida last month and I did not have a problem. There are so many good stores there and I had food delivered by Glaser Farms.
Will you have a blender to make smoothies. Take some crackers with you and make smoothies and eat lots of fresh fruit.

I always travel with fruit and lettuce. I fix a big container of salad dressing. I take dried fruits and smetimes some crackers. Just keep it real simple.
