    Default Ah N-U-T-S!~

    Hey ladies...

    Question...

I want to order some nuts, alot of them. Now I was wondering to those who have alot of nuts that they keep, How does it work for ya? Do you buy them shelled or in-shell (to make sure its not rancid?) Seems like Inshell would be such a hassle. But I was thinking of ordering from Sun Organic or Jaffe brothers, So hopefully if I do buy shelled nuts they wont be rancid??

Say if you buy 5 pounds of nuts, Do you soak the 5 pounds and sprout them? Or do you just put as is into the bins, then whatever you need to use you take out and soak and sprout? Im not talking as a RULE I mean what do you do? It just seems like a hassle to soak and sprout all the nuts you buy before hand, then if you want them crunchy DEHY all the nuts to be crunchy again. Then store....

What do yall do? I haven't been eating much nuts and seeds, Not enough to store them. I feel deprived, But Im not sure on how to store them if I buy in bulk, to soak and sprout them all before I store them once there dehydrated. UGH~ Help? What did you do? Those who buy pounds of nuts at a time?

    Thanks!

I buy POUNDS of walnuts and keep some in the freezer until I run low in the jar on my counter. For my almonds, I'll freeze most of them and soak/sprout the amount I think I"ll need in the next few days. Soaked almonds are still crunchy, but they have more "body" to them if that makes any sense. Lovely lovely things they are

Do any of you find eating nuts puts on weight? How much do you eat in a day. I could eat pounds if I'm not careful.

I buy a pound or two of each and keep them in the fridge, or they tend to go rancid. I don't like to freeze them, cause then I have to thaw them if I want them on salad; and I would have to think ahead........
My dh and I eat about a pound and a half each of almonds and walnuts a week.

I soak as I go. I never dehydrate them, so if you soak, you need to use within a few days.
