    Default Himalayan Salt Source

Anyone know of a reputable online source of Himalayan salt? I don't want to be scammed, and though there is no way to be sure, I would like to know if anyone knows beyond a reasonable doubt of any good sources. Also, would it be best to get the big chunks of it, or the fine granulated sizes? I would think the big chunks would be best, but it might be harder to use that way. I guess I could always smash it with a hammer or something. Any reason any size would be better than another size, perhaps due to processing techniques for the granulated size?

I only use the Celtic Sea Salt because Alissa sells it, and that way I KNOW it's a great product.

I can get it at my health food store and also one of the grocery stores. I don't eat it though. Just bathe in it sometimes.

I feel this is a reputable source:

David and Yemiah live fairly close to me and they seem to have a lot of integrity. They do a raw food potluck and bring raw food speakers to the area. He has an email so you could ask him about which size is better. I would feel comfortable that they are reputable and wouldn't cheat you in any way.

I have heard that Himilayan has all of the minerals but two, but I am not sure if it is raw or not. Someone on here might know though. I know the Himilayan has more minerals than Sea Salt.

    Did you try Ebay?

Some of the sellers don't sell it as food, they sell it as bath salts at a MUCH reduced price. I purchased the ones about the size of corn grains, not the huge chunks, and they work fine for me. And the price CAN'T be beat.

My gosh, I paid $5.95 for 2 ounces (TWO OUNCES!) of himalayan salt at the HFS. What a ripoff! I got two POUNDS for less than that on Ebay.

Do not get anything that says "perfumed" or has a description like "jasmine himalayan salt" because that's for sure not going to taste good!

Not to be a wiseguy, but how could salt mined from saltmines be anything but raw? Or am I missing something?

    http://www.rawtimes.com/sale/salt/

Anyone know if this is a reputable site? The only reason I'm concerned about this is that with salt, there's no way to know if it's the real deal. Ordering food, you can tell if an apple is not an apple, but you can't tell if this is not just table salt sold as something else. Also, this site has prices much lower than all other sites I've seen. That's good but it raises some suspicion.
