    Default juicing cucumbers

Do you put them in skin and all or do you peel them first? Thanks!

Only organic and unwaxed ones. The waxed on the outside is not good for us. It is put there to keep them green longer.

I dont peel them at al. I wash them thoroughly and soak them for awhile. I juice the whole thing, skin and all. I have found the cucumber to be one of the best juices for me. In fact, I have learned it can be combined with fruit juices for those who are diabetic with good results to health.

    Peace.

Oh man, if you juice one cucumber (skin and all) with one apple, and one pear, it is the best juice ever!

I juice the whole thing! There are a lot of nutrients in the skin.
I wash it 1st though and I buy organic.
If you cannot buy organic you might consider peeling; or try
a Veggie Wash spray (Whole Foods carries some) that might
get a lot of the wax and undesirables off.

My fave juicer combination for cucumber is:
    1 cucumber
    1 golden delicous apple
    1/2'' piece of ginger
celery (2 stalks or so according to taste)

I was going to look into veggie wash. I figured that the skin of the cucumber more vital nutrients-the peel is greener than the inside!! lol and i LOVE cucumbers. they are so light and refreshing! Punky, I will add your juice combo to my recipe list! Thank you so much for responding!

I thought I posted this earlier - you can use perxiode to wash off the wax - my hubby reminded me.

Interesting to know about the fruit wash. Thanks, Punky. The wax is awful.

    Default Veggie wash

    F.Y.I.
My bottle of "Veggie Wash" says it safely removes Pesticides, Waxes,
Chemicals and Soil. 100% Natural fruit and Vegetable Wash.
(Looks like it has coconut, corn, and different citrus', and grapefruit seed extract as the cleaners). I get it at Whole Foods, but have seen
it elsewhere too. It was 5 bucks for a 16oz. bottle.
When I'm out and too broke to buy more I just use dishsoap (Seventh Generation non-scented). Don't know if these get all the yuckies off,
    but it helps.
    Warmly, Punky

I just wanted to say that I had cuc juice twice this week-plain, and my pores are almost non exsistant!!!!! I had the largest pores in the world- they are literally like pot holes in my face- after 2 8oz glasses of cuc juice, my skin is so balanced in tone and the pores are bye, bye... gone Cuc juice for me at least 2x's a week for the rest of my life!!!!!

I am going to love that apple pear combo! Thanks for sharing it Monica!

Oh, and I did one cuc w/ skin and one without. I liked the taste of the skinless one better, but if Todd says juice it skin and all- I'm doing it his way He's the man on this sort of thing... thanks Todd for your wisdom and great advice that you always share with all of us no matter what the issue I appreciate you very much!

I will definitely be adding that to my skin regimen!! I have huge pores on the apples of my cheeks They piss me off so much, lol. I'll try it and see how it does for my skin. I heard that cucs have an ingredient in them that is great for skin.

Melissa, thanks so much for that wonderful compliment!
But if you like the taste without the skin, go for it! The important thing is that you keep drinking it. Since I have begun this journey I have learned that both cucumber and celery juice are much more powerful than I ever imagined. I am going to include at least one of these in every juice I do during the 30 day fast. Congrats on the the skin improvement Melissa! Hey at this rate, you will be totally dangerous by the summer!! ;)

    Peace.
