Thread: Working Raw

What do you all do for work and does it support your raw food lifestyle?

    Ill start:

I'm a nurse and if definitely does not support my raw food lifestyle. Many of the people I work with are very unconscious when it comes to what eating right means.
There's always someone bringing in donuts and candy and all kinds of not just cooked but crappy cooked food.
Some of the people I work with have started to ask about my diet but they don’t really show that much interest.

Im so lucky that I have a boyfriend that's raw so at least when I go home I have the support there.

Its been long enough that it doesn’t bother me that the people I work with don’t support what I do, but it also amazes me because they see and deal with sickness everyday

I have a framing business. I create plaques and things for sports and entertainment figures.

Most of the time I'm in my office in my warehouse where I have a large refrigerator full of good food.

Im a florist part time. I also make bead jewelry and have begun to sell some of my creations. I work in a small shop and its only part time so there really is no problem with staying raw while working there. There rest of the time Im at home making my jewelry and my boyfriend that I live with is raw also.

We've both been doing raw for about 6 months off and on. But when I found Alissa's book we decided to stay raw and take the 30-day challenge and see how we feel after that. We weren’t as committed as we wanted to be so this was a good motivation for us.

So far we are on day 56 100% raw so I guess I worked. And we both feel great!

    Blessings,

Im a stay at home mom which makes it easy obviously to make my own food but my husband is very against what Im doing so that makes it difficult.

He is just not open at all to raw. He's very meat and potatoes and thinks the kids should be brought up that way as well. It is really causing a lot of tension between us. I never tell him what to eat but he is always getting on my case about 'this new fad diet' that im on.

I think he's really worried about the kids also, that I will turn them into raw fooders (gasp) and they wont like meat any more (horrors).

I have changed their diet and taken out all the processed junk foods like soda, candy, baked goods.... but I think it would be a battle to take them off the chicken and fish and cooked veggies. So for now im trying to feed them as healthily as possible and hopefully once I am raw for a long time they will all start to come around. I have about 100 pounds to lose so if I can do this and they start to see the changes in me and how healthy I’ve become, then I think that is the best impression I can give to them that this is a healthy way to eat.

Im an interior decorator. I live alone so you would think it would be easy to stay on raw but ive been going off and on for about a year now.
I'm pretty determined to stay on it though so I'm hoping connecting with others will help!

    Hi all,
I own my own business which is not really health in nature, but I think that being my own boss really helps me stay raw. I can bring my own lunch and pretty much make my own hours so this helps. I couldn't imagine going into an office and eating in a lunch room.. I think the smell would make me sick!!!
    Peace,

I work with kids so its difficult because there is always junk food around my work. I’ve only been raw for about a month so it gets tempting. Im hoping it will get easier the longer I'm raw. I've started to bring in some deserts that Ive made though and some of the people and even some of the kids like it.
I hoping it will inspire some of these people to eat raw as I work with Down syndrome children and I really think they would benefit from this diet.

I work in the corporate world doing medical sales (machines and gadgets not drugs!)
So there are times that it is very difficult like when I need to take clients out to lunch or have meetings with my boss.
I don’t really tell people about the way I eat but they know im a vegan so when I order salads they just think that’s why. I don't think they would get it!

    Hi Guys!!!

I have an easy time at work! When I fast, I bring frozen homemade juice to work and drink it as it melts. I work in high-tech (which means breakfast and lunch is usually at my desk). I just find raw so easy...fresh fruit salad for breakfast, veggies, nuts, dried fruit for lunch. Lunch out is always just "salad, no cheese, no croutons, nothing but veggies"

I teach taekwondo. I think it supports the raw lifestyle because I feel I have to maintain my health to be a good teacher. What kind of image do you have of a fat martial artist? Not one I'd like to be taught by or look like. It helps me stay focused on my health overall. When I'm not teach or taking classes for myself, I'm home with kids. No, it isn't easy but it is do-able. You just have to get into the rhythm. My husband isn't against me doing this because he's seen the positive effects and I don't mean just how I look. My moods are so much better. If I would fall of the veggie wagon he'll notice it in my moods first. Often before I do. Exercise is critical for me, too. If I miss a day or two, the whole of me is effected. Yes, My husband isn't against it but he sure doesn't want to eat that way. He does eat a lot of raw fruits and veggies, plus a lot of cooked veggies but he wants a piece of steak or a casserole or something. Breakfast and lunch isn't an issue when he isn't around. I make them stuff for dinner with as many raw options as possible, make them a main course and perhaps a cooked veggie and myself a big salad, fruit or something. A lot of times I work at 4pm. I make them dinner and eat my stuff while I'm cooking. I leave before they sit down to eat so he can't comment on my stuff. He's really been pretty supportive as long as I make him something he wants. I don't mind. The way I feel is worth it!

I own a résumé preparation and professional support services business and work exclusively from home (interviewing clients) - so I have no problem sticking to raw - or I should say, NO EXCUSES!
