Irfanview Help Needed

trying to post avatar photo but came up photo too large . so i downloaded the irfanview onto my windows xp system and downsized photo downloaded from kodak software , i went to irfanview icon then file then open then chose the photo then clicked resize/resample then adjusted size to less than the 150 x 150 avatar must be . but still comes up photo too large . ?

The photo may be too large in terms of file size (kb).

I'm not familiar with the program you are using, but does it have a feature to make the file size smaller? It has to be 150x150 AND no larger than 19.5 kb...most times whenever someone asked for my help with an avatar that was still "too large" although they had the dimensions correct, the file size was often more than the requirement. I know the directions say 150x150 or no larger than 19.5 kb...but it's really not an either/or...it has to be both in order to upload successfully.
