    Default Wheat sprouting question...

There's a recipie that I want to make and it calls for sprouted wheat berries. It says to sprout them for 2-3 days. My question is what are they supposed to look like when they are done and ready to be used.
Also there is a little white fuzzy mold on them, is it okay to just wash that off and still use them?

    Thanks!

I would NOT use them if they molded.

this is how to sprout wheat berries, or spelt, or kamut, etc
soak the wheat over night, rinse at least three times until the water runs clear, then allow them to sit in a nut milk bag or jelly bag, and just be, rinse every 4 hours, and when you rinse, rinse at least three times, do this until the tails are about as long as the wheat berries.

I don't like to let them sit in jars, I just put them in my nutmilk bag or a jelly bag or a paint strainer bag, and tie them to my upper cabinet knob, and place a bowl under them, this way, I see them often and rinse them often, never had a batch mold yet, and they don't get water all over the place.

You can buy sprout jars, and all that, but then you need a place to tip the jar on an angle, that won't leak all over anyplace, and then you need to remember to rinse and all that,

I find it easier to just tie up the bag on my cabinet knob and it is right next to my sink, so fast and easy and simple, YES, that is how I like to do things.
