Is there a large raw community in Austin?? I know UT is there, and I have a lot of friends who go there. They have been asking a lot about raw foods, and if there is a big community and lots of support I think it would be easy for them to be involved.

I went to UT. Hook em horns. And didn't notice a big raw community. However I wasn't looking.

    Things might have changed.

I would love to go back for grad school and there big a HUGE raw food community.

Yes, the raw community is really growing in Austin. There have been quite a few articles in various newspapers about raw lately and there are more and more people in Austin that are raw. I think it is a great place to be doing raw.

    Vandy,

There are a couple booths at the Sunset Valley Farmer's Market that sell prepared raw food. Also, the downtown Whole Foods has a raw food lunch counter with prepared raw foods. Just wanted to let you know in case your friends might be interested in places where they can try prepared raw foods.

    Moonstone,

The raw food community is really growing in Austin. If you come back to grad school here, you could be right in the middle of it.

    Vandy,

Yes, I was really glad to find out about Whole Foods. Also, there is a raw potluck in Austin on the last Saturday of the month if any of your friends are interested in that.

I've worked w/ Pam and enjoyed her energy tremendously. If you are in the area and looking for a rawfood instructor, PLEASE sign up for this class. As a matter of fact, even if you're not in the area ~ get there! You'll have a wonder-filled experience.
