I started some sunflower sprouts yesterday and i think they molded today. when i came home from work the tails had white fuzz on them. it looked like peach fuzz. i soaked them overnight, rinsed and drained them and let them grow. i put them in a shallow pie plate cuz i've heard that they need to be shallow so they don't mold. is this really mold? what do i do to prevent this in the future?

YEP, that's mold, sunflower seeds are the fastest and easiest to mold, you need to rinse often and NOT allow to stand in water.
