It's quite surprising how much chlorophyll ends up in the juice, isn't it?

    Good stuff!

    Default Cautions about melon rinds

There are 2 big cautions about melon rinds to be aware of...

    1. Conventional melon rinds are not expected to be eaten, and they typically contain very high levels of pesticides, among the highest of all produce items sold. ONLY juice melon rinds from certified organic melons.

    2. Even organic melons grow on the ground, typically in composted manure, and thus are frequently contaminated ON THE SURFACE by e coli bacteria and other dangerous beasties that make people sick. . (No joke, it happens every summer) You must, must, must wash melon skins very, very thoroughly to avoid exposure to possible food poisoning.

Personally I say it's not worth the risk, and I cut off the outer half inch or so... AFTER I've washed the melon skin thoroughly to avoid cross contamination.

    Default Daiquiri?

HI, I'm so excited to juice my watermelon and rind for my 4th of July BBQ this weekend! Does anyone have a suggestion for how to turn this into a daiquiri? Just add rum and lime juice after juicing? What about juicing frozen watermelon with the rind - will that work?
    thanks!
