    Default I love my garden

We bought our house in April and planted our garden a little late but, it has produced fantastic. I have pictures if I can figure out how to get them in.

Well I do know that I managed to get the picures in I do not know how to get the captions with the pictures.

So I will try to tell you about them first.

We planted a small garden in the main part of the yard. Jalepenos, Tomatos, Cauliflower, Carrots, Spinach, Lettuce, rosemary, parsley, green beans, black eye peas, pineapple sage, sage, basil, and squash.

The side view here is zucchini, and various melons (they did not make it), corn, onions (they did not make it) and horseradish, pepper, thyme, and oregano.

Behind the garage and the other side of the house we have blue berries and strawberries(didn't make it).

The back fence we have planted grape vines merlot, muscadine, and one other variety I cannot remember, in the compost area we have walmart grape vines.

Oh yes and we got our fruit tries planted this spring.

Just lost my fabulous bragging garden post. I also tried to add the 27" Armenian Cucumber I grew and uploaded it to the site and can't find it either.
Before that had two 23" ones I picked. A few more coming along.

I wanted to add it here. Any help on adding it into the message. Copy and paste didn't work. Help!!

Garden is doing well overall except for one package of basil that was supposed to be the normal size leaves you buy at store, but turned into minature ones which is attributable to wrong packaging.

My 27" Armenian cuke is featured here.

That cucumber is amazing. Are you starting a fall garden or is yours still going strong?

    Giles,
My garden is still going/growing strong and I won't be able to start another garden outside, unless I sneak in some greens protected by the house. Fall is around the corner which means gardening outdoors is coming to a halt probably in a month. Right now I am amazed at the size of the cucumbers but then my golden squash is doing fabulous too. I have other things growing well.

I must brag about my best friend, the Action Hoe, sold at Home Depot and worth $15ish. I don't have a rototiller so it's me and me doing the hard labor as hubby is busy and then again I rather depend on me. It is worth every penny and more. I love it to the max. I think it's a Vigoro. I can speak for this one only so get yourself one. It's quick to even knock down bog weeds and I put it to the test when I bought it thinking it was going to return. Little did I find out, it's my best friend. So easy to weed the garden in very quick amount of time. It's effortless gardening. I mean it.

What part of the country are you in. In Tulsa Ok I know we leave the old in and it will keep producing also we plant a new and will keep having fresh until Thanksgiving sometimes depending on the freezes.

I will have to check this tool out when I come back from camping yippee yipee camping.

We have only a half acre and don't plant bery much of that and we do have a tiller but there are just some places I cannot get to with the tiller or between tilling.

September is here and time to plant more fruit trees.

Anyone know when the pecans will be ready and how best to preserve them I have 6 trees plus huge park with pecan orchard to harvest from.

    Gelis,
I'm in CO so gardening is coming to a halt shortly where in my area near Denver.

Pecan trees...I am thinking a great cash crop...wow....May call extension service for details about harvest/freeze.

    Draggon:
Your radishes are beauties although I don't eat many. Those leaves you can also use in salads or juice too.

    Default RawPriestess?

You said you water your garden using lake water; how do you irrigate your garden?
