Juicers, HELP!
Hi, I know there has been a lot of discussion here already on recommended juicers. My head is spinning with all the information! Last night I went out and bought the Breville JE95XL Juice Fountain. I haven't used it yet because I still have questions. I'm worried about how fast it spins...is this going to compromise the nutrients in my juice? For 50 bucks less I could have the Jack La Lanne juicer that seems to get almost the same amount of high ratings and it's supposed to be quieter and it spins slower.
I don't want to use my new Brevia until I'm truly sure it's the best choice for me. What do you all think? I'm brand new to juicing, so the only knowledge I have is from all the reading (and there's plenty!) I've done on the internet. Should I keep the Brevia Juice Fountain JE95XL or should I go exchange it for the much simpler looking JLL?
Thanks so much.

Well, after doing a ton more reading and seeing a thread that specifically discussed the Breville, and my husband convincing me that I wouldn't probably be as happy with the JLL....I tried it out this morning! And what can I say? WOW! I don't know what all this talk about it being loud is about....it's very quiet! I haven't done carrots yet, maybe they are noisier, but I thought it was very quiet. For my very first juice we used 4 oranges, about a quarter of a fresh pineapple and a large apple. I don't think I've ever tasted anything so wonderful! Later today we are going to get a bunch of carrots and juice them up!
Oh, and clean up was a snap! Thanks for being patient with a newbie here....I have a lot to learn and I see that a lot of my questions have been answered in different threads! ;)

I have a Breville Juice Fountain and I use it every day. I have taken it on vacation with me. I really love it and for the $, it is exceptional! Here's to many, happy juice days!!

Thanks for responding Rawlee!! I'm pretty excited about this juicer....I'm sure glad I didn't take it back without even giving it a try! I'm off to buy my carrots now!

I forgot to add my welcome to the board....Welcome!!! Don't forget to add some greens. I juice romaine, kale, apples and lemon together every morning for a wonderful and satisfying breakfast.

Thanks so much for the nice welcome! Could you tell me how much of each ingredient you use for that morning green drink? Thanks!

I juice a head of organic romaine, 4-5 stalks of kale, 2 apples and a lemon. If I don't have kale, I'll use whatever green I have on hand...spinach, collard, etc.....although I think these 2 give it a saltier taste. My kids like apple-carrot juice. I also sometimes save the pulp and add it to my lunch salad. It also makes wonderful compost!

Thanks so much for the tips! I have a lot to learn! ;)

Thanks Julie! That sounds like a good one too!! I just made carrot/apple/celery juice this afternoon...OMG, how delicious! I'm really going to love this machine, I'm so glad this is the one I decided on...I can't believe how fast it whips out the juice! Takes longer to clean up then it does to make the juice! And clean up isn't all that bad either!

I got a JLL juicer for a gift a couple of years ago. . .I use it (of course--it was free) but it really is a HUGE pain to clean! Sometimes I avoid juicing because I just don't want to have to clean that little mesh screen. . .
One of these days, I'm going to splurge on top quality one. . .but for now this will work.

Thanks for posting that comparison. For those who don't bother to check the link out for themself, let me summarize the overwhelming comparison... the Jack LaLanne juicer is pure junk.
Oh, yes, they were a little too polite to say that explicitly, but I think that's what they would have said if they could have done so without being threatened with legal action. Me they can't touch.
The Jack LaLanne juicers are a stunning example of why celebrity endorsements cannot be trusted to mean ANYTHING! It's flimsy, cheap, and underpowered (1/3 the power of the Breville). I find it to be a cynical ripoff of the brilliant Breville design.

Breville Juicer
I recently purchased the Breville 800XL, and I am really very happy with it. Even though I have a Samson twin gear juicer, that is really great for juicing greens, I found that the Samson didn't juice apples, and other fruits, without it being a major ordeal, and the cleanup was more than I wanted to deal with, on a regular basis ( I'm soooo lazy - lol). There are some really great opinions on the Breville 800XL juicer, on the Amazon.com site (the first and longest one, is very accurate, and anyone that is interested in the Breville, should check out the opinions from people that have purchased it). After juicing for quite a while, I finally found what works best for me. I usually use my Vitamix for fruit (add a little water, add fruit, some ice - liquid fruit, and it's simple and delicious). I found that I'd rather eat my greens in salad form, than juice them. Salads just taste better to me. I really love the Breville for quickly juicing carrots, celery, apples, beets, etc. The ease of use, and the cleanup is a breeze with the Breville, and are big plusses for me, and I find myself using my Breville juicer daily (actually several times a day) because of these reasons.
