    Default maple syrup

I posted this under the fasting section but I know more people read this one... I was thinking of starting the master cleanse tomorrow. I called a local health food store to see if they carried grade b maple syrup. She told me that its illegal to carry grade b maple syrup in new york state?! Something about politics. So is it okay to use organic grade A??

    Default The difference

From the info I have aquired grade b has more nutrients in it and that is why it is prefered. If you look at them side by side grade b is much thicker and darker and I believe it is harvested later in the season than grade a. I have always used grade b. I would assume you could use grade a but maybe just use more--that way you are getting more nutrients...
The point of the maple syrup is to provide calories to burn & the vitamins/minerals to replenish what you are using. I would think it would be an okay option.

I am actually going to try a modification of the Master Cleanse next week. I am in Guam so my resources are limited. I like the way the master cleanse is set up and appreciate why each item is included in the cleanse. I am going to try an all raw/fresh version. I will use water, fresh lemons, local hot peppers, and dates (liquified into date paste).
I am hoping this will be adequate.

So I went to this other health food store which happens to be only about a half a mile away from the one I went to yesterday that said Grade B is illegal, and guess what! They had Grade B organic syrup! Yay ;)

Just so you all know, maple syrup is not raw, not even a little bit, it is boiled for over 40 hours, so you can eat it if you like, but it isn't raw, so we don't really discuss it on this forum, as this is a raw vegan support board.

thanks for your understanding on this.

Yes I do understand this is a raw vegan board. But I am talking about the master cleanse which I know a lot of people here do or have done, and one of the main ingrediants is maple syrup.

I posted this in the other thread:

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How odd! When I did the MC at the end of 2004, I bought a 16 oz of grade b, then a 32 oz which were about $14 and $20. Then decided to look online, and found an organic maple syrup company (sorry I forget the name, I'm sure a search would suffice) and got a full gallon of organic grade b maple syrup shipped for about $60ish. It sounds like a lot, but it's a lot cheaper than buying them in the little bottles locally.

I don't know if you could try that, since you were told they couldn't carry it.

30 posts per page load for me, nine of which on this page have the Master Cleanser in the subject line. Since I've been coming to this site, the fasting forum is dominated by master cleanser talk, including maple syrup....
