    Default Really screwey thought pattern...?

Okay-I've been commiting my food to my sponsor-but I don't feel OBLIGATED to stick to it but I don't know why.??? I stick to it, as long as my life is going perfectly to plan (usu from 9a-4pm-then I LOSE it and binge on anything: chips, nuts, bread, cooked leftovers, etc.)

    BUT

then this afternoon I realized that if I had a Raw-Buddy I would feel that I am obligated to eat only raw and stick to my plan. I wonder if I did have a raw-buddy and I had a slip and ate cooked would I then think it's no big deal to live up to my commitment to my raw-buddy?

SO why do I feel it's okay to not live up to it with my OA sponsor, but not a raw-buddy? What's screwey about my thinking? I assume the answer is obvious, yet I am completely baffled by this "mini-revelation".

I have found when I rely on someone else to help me stay commited that it serves me no good.

I ask that people in my family just be supportive of me and never push me on cooked foods and I won't push them on raw.

I do this lifestyle for me and me alone and me staying on this lifetyle depends on only me. If I fall down it is my descision whether to stay down or get back up.

I like having complete control over my eating habits. I get to choose. I have more control raw then I did when I ate cooked. When I go to someones house I get to choose to bring something raw and eat raw food, before I would be polite and eat whatever was being served regardless of whether I wanted to or not.

I agree, I am a rebel, I WON"T do something (even if it is in my best interest) if someone else tells me to, or if I FEEL someone else is telling me to.

so, having a buddy just defeats MY purposes.

what I finally figured worked for me, was to rebel against all of those SAD eaters out there, all those TV commericials, all of those billboards, see how hard this is? see how good I'm doing? see me ROAR!!!!, and see me excell in my rebellion.

anyway, I'm a child of the 60's so this is my life plan, by my horoscope, whenever I truly want to do something, all I need to do is to simply find a way to rebel against something else, and it works for me. LOL

I am the same as RP describes. If someone tells me to do it, even if I want to, forget it---I'm gonna find myself pushing against it. So I am rebelling against being conventional, ordinary, uninspired, etc. Get the picture? LOL That's my life plan too, being on the leading edge....always!!

Right now I'm doing a Master Cleanser, aiming for 30+ days, then 100% raw...how leading edge can ya get!!
