starting the Mater Cleanse today
Hi All,
I'm starting the MC today.I decided that it will be of benefit to me since I"m trying to rid myself of the toxins of steroids and other medications that my doctor had me on - that I've weened off of in the past month. I'm holding a lot of water - as a result of the steroid use and intuitively I'm feeling that the MC will help flush it out - or atleast help the process.
I've never done the MC before so I'm curious about how it will go and what it will be like when I crave food - or one of my coconut smoothies! I have food still in the fridge which is probably good since the other options are Jerry's choices and that would be meat - dairy - coffee - etc. Blech
Anyhow - thought I'd post it out in the opne - since I know a lot of you have dont this before - I'd love support!

I was just going to look on the board to find out how they would make the warm water mixture?
Like how much of what - with what.
I'd prefer to make a bunch of it and sip it all day - then make a little bit and have to keep making it.
What did you do?

Are you talking about what the measurements for the ingredients are? I'm not sure what you mean by warm water.
I mixed mine up as I went as suggested in the manual but I hear that some people mix up the entire days worth all at once. I used fresh just so that I could get all of the benefits from teh fresh squeezed lemon!

i used warm water - but I don't think it's necessary. I don't have the book so I'm just going off what I've read here and on the internet.
I made 50oz with and I must say it had more taste then I thought it would.
I think I'll make a gallon of it tomorrow so I can just sip on that all day long.
I'm trying to drink water - by itself too.
Man I'm just tired. I would usually eat - snack - all day long - and it's just making me want to go to sleep without all the snacking!

day 2 master cleanse - I want to eat a reuben sandwich!
Hi all -
Today is day 2 of the MC for me and I was doing great today - until now.
I just want an avocado...or a salad....or hummous....
Then Jerry heated up the reuben sandwish he had from the restuarant we went to Friday - And boy does it smell good....I just want to walk by and pick it up and run out the door and shove it in my mouth!!!!!!!!!
I'm so hungry I'm so hungry I'm so hungry...
Why am I doing this again ?? I can't remember.
All I can think about if FOOD. ANY kind of food.
Today Taco Bell was in my mind. I don't even care what it's made out of.
lol.
I hear that after day 3 I should feel different - not so hungry.....
But today is day 2 and I don't want to do this anymore
Luckily Jerry won't let me eat because he knows I want to do this.
I feel like laying down and going to sleep.
Tired and hungry.
Boo hoo.
lol.
Hope it changes.
I'd LOVE to lose the puffiness from the steroids.

Your doing great, it will get better. I found a short lay down, lots of deep breathing, and visualising what I wanted to achieve helpful.

YOu can do this Catherine! I looked for my old journal from my first MC, but couldn't find it. I thought I would post it for you as support. I will if I can find it.
The first time I did the MC I had food on my mind, but not hunger. It was a desire to chew. Can't explain it too well. Everytime you crave food, sip the lemonade. It works, really!
I found that sunbathing, napping, and reading inspirational books and magazines really helped me the first time, and subsequently. Keep your eye on the prize!

Are you an all or nothing kind of gal? The reason i ask is b/c our dynamics sound so similar--I attempted the MC and by the 2nd day evening, I was expereincing some POWERFUL detox symptoms (my ND told me not to do it) b/c of my past medical issues and mind you, although it's good to detox, there is a real strenuous side to this......not that you can't do it but don't overwhelm yourself...........I hate to see you go back and forth and get mad at yourself......maybe try lemon water every morning and work into it.
member "Joopie" did MC for 15 days--she wrote in her journal about it.
If you're just having hunger issues, REMEMBER THE TACO BELL STORY.......SERIOUSLY THINK ABOUT THAT!!!!

I am having a rough one today as well. I am very lazy feeling and also kinda blaagh. I too am starving or at least that's what my addictions are telling me. I hope tomorrow is easier but I know that it will be. Last time after day 3 it was smooth sailing.

Yep _ I'm an all or nothin kind of gal - the one thing that is missing from my cleanse is a series of colonics every other day. Seriously - THAT is how all or nothing I am! lol!!!!
Actually for some reason the taco bell story actually planted a photo in my mind of warm yummy tacos - even though the story was so GROSS - I don't even think about that...
I think that napping - reading inspiring things - and taking it easy is a great thing for me to do right now!
Tomorrow I see my first ina series of a few doctors and I hope that he has som wisdom to share with me about the steroid puffiness and thyroid stuff.
Gotta go help Jerry clean up the yard sale - We are so tired! But we made $300 so it was worth it !

yay - it is exhausting!
I totally forgot that I am hosting a LUNCH at my house on Wed.
I could still do the MC - but I think that would be so silly.
I'm deciding that a 5 day cleanse is ok with me.
Maybe after the lunch I'll do another 5 days??

made juice
I layed on the couhc for a few hours and got so grumpy and angry inside that I just couldn't deal with it.
I decided it was ok to eat
I made veggie juice with
spinich, radish, celery, cucumbers, a few sun dried tomatos, a clove of garlic, And added the Master cleanse in with it instead of plain water.
Wow it was spicy.
I slurped it down and It really hit the spot. I feel good about the choice I made - since it was juice and not a cake or a taco!
I don't feel bad about it at all - just part of my own cleansing process.

Started MC this morning

Thank you posting about the MC. I've started this morning. I have tried several times to do it and can't get past the first day. I get horrible headaches and that usually is what kicks me over to eat something. Today I have decided to take each hour as it comes and that if the headache gets to overwhelming that I can give myself permission to have juice. We'll see how it goes.
I actually like the taste of the lemon/maple/cayenne mixture and I can related to missing the chewing. I've already been in a state of emotional upheaval (I believe it's part of the going raw detox), so I figure if more tears flow and I feel kinda nutty that it might as well be now! Anyway. . . .nice to know I'm not alone and each hour that I don't put food into my body is another hour that my digestive systems gets to rest. . .
