    Default Chocolate cream pie!

Thought you parents would enjoy this. I made the chocolate cream pie from the recipe section and my son loved it as you can see.

This is the link to the recipe:

Awww...that lil' cutie REALLY enjoyed that pie!

I made one yesterday and my little one loved it too (as did I - only one slice left!) I made it "similar" but made some modifications.

I made this for the fist time last night... good, but too sweet for me. I think I will cut the honey/agave in half and put a spoonfull of raw cocao and see, but so rich and tastey!!! Nice recipe! Looks so pretty.

This looks wonderful, but I cannot use nuts in my house. Are there any alternate things one could use?

Heather, you could either make the pudding without the crust or if you can do grains, use oat groats ground up into flour with a coffee grinder or Vitamix. Quite possibly maybe even buckwheat soaked/sprouted/dehydrated and then blended with the dates.

Thank you for your suggestion, I happen to have some oat groats in my cupboard right now.

    Default Chocolate Cream Pie

I would love to make this for my son's 1st birthday and I was wondering if you used raw or toasted carob powder?

    Thank you!

BTW, I'm a new member and trying to get my kids and dh to become raw with me. I'm sure I'll be posting soon to get more info and yummy recipes.

    HI!

Well done in trying to transition your kids - it CAN be done!!!

I bought my carob from Alissa's site and it is raw. I used 1/2 & 1/2 carob and cocoa as I dont like carob! If you do this keep in mind that you cannot sub like for like measurments as chocolate is MUCH stronger and will ruin your pie so you would nedd to use much less cocoa. :)

Also this pie freezes BEAUTIFULLY and comes out like an ice cream pie. Just cut a slice and let it sit oue for about 10 min before serving!

It's also really nice served with a dollop of any of the whipped creams out there. I used Alissa's strawberry crepe filling, diluted as my cream! Freash raspberrys go very well too.

    Default Chocolate Cream Pie

    Thank you eachpeachpearplum!
I used 1/2 raw carob and 1/2 cacao powder and it was a success!! I made the Chocolate Cream Pie with cashew whipped cream and the Banana Cream Pie (From Alissa's Book) for my son's party and everyone loved it!
My dad said it was the best vegan dessert he has ever tried. I didn't tell anyone they were both raw until everyone ate them. I froze the banana pie and it was so yummy partly frozen.
I attached pictures of both pies and a picture of my son who just loved it!!
    :)
