Default Can I freeze my Durian?

Well guys.. I opened my first Durian. The thing is... I can't eat it all. So Can I freeze it? If so...Do I take the seed/pit out.. stick in a container and freeze? Thanks in advance!

My guess is you can. This is how they preserve durian when shipping, for example. I only wonder whether refridgerating instead of freezing may be a better short-term option (fresh durian tastes better they say). Also, if you freeze it, you may possibly consider making icecream (if you do, tell us whether it was yummy, will you?).

    I admit it: I am a fruit lover!:p

Unfortunately, it will taste so much worse. Usually, the durians in the stores have already been frozen (at least in the u.s. where durians are imported). So, the ones you buy are usually thawed. The durians, to my taste bud, taste bad after it has been thawed more than once(I guess this is also true with most food). I love durian, and I'm actually addicted to it. I try to limit myself to 1/4 of it per day and I just keep them in the refridge.

Yep, I freeze mine. Isn't durian amazing? I never have the problem of left overs when it comes to durian. I always eat the whole thing!!!
