    Default nama shoyu

is nama shoyu really a raw food? mine is organic, unpasteurized and from a reliable source but is it truly raw?

ps this is my 3rd week raw and other than a rash i've had since day 4 i'm feeling very good about it. i feel little temptation to eat cooked foods and in fact they don't look good to me at all. sometimes they smell good tho. still i believe in this way of life and have found thus far all the positive things said about raw foods to be true. still i intend to go forward with an open mind and heart yet i feel umm bewildered that people are so concerned about me living this way yet don't think twice about a s.a.d. diet or even worse.

    Hi Harp,

Well, from what I've read here on the site, Nama Shoyu is raw as in unpasteurized but the soy beans used when making it are not raw.

Many here just use celtic sea salt in the place of it but for SOME things, it just won't have the same flavor. It's all preference...if you don't feel comfortable using it, you can definitely do without as many people do.

Congrats on 3 weeks with this and that's great that you feel so passionate about this way of eating! Yeah, people speak mainly out of ignorance. We've been taught for so long that we "need" meat, dairy, eggs, etc. and for many households (mine used to be one of them) fruit was considered only a snack and veggies were only side dishes! Just keep doing what you're doing and let your vibrance shine and do all the talking! Then they'll be wondering "What are you doing that you look so GOOD?!"
    Detox getting rough?
    Let's "smooth it out"!
