Coffee never did anything for me either & I tried cuban coffee which everyone says can keep you up for days. Still nothing. But I'm like that with a lot of things.

So all the places that say raw are not? Just checking. I'm trying to stick with carob because I think it's less addicting for me than chocolate.

The first time I had cacao, I was bouncing off the walls and talking so fast and I wouldn't shut up! And I'm normally a very quiet, calm person. It's becuase of the stimulating chemicals (caffeine and theobromine) in chocolate. I wouldn't have a problem with eating it as a treat, but I don't think chocolate should be eaten every day. I also think raw chocolate is more stimulating than cooked chocolate because I've never had a reaction like that from a chocolate bar, even after avoiding chocolate for a very long time.

I am pretty sure cacao is raw. I haven't read anything by someone who is legitimate and successful in the field saying they aren't raw, and i've read a lot about how they are.

I realize the above isn't a convincing argument, but I just encourage anyone to do their research in the "raw" and "non-raw" debate.

    just my two cents.

Sounds like fun! Wish I could find stuff (legal-lol) that could do that to me. That description reminds me of how I use to be-very energetic. Guess I should test out cacoa, just in case. ;)

found this on karen knowlers blog..( freshnetwork uk)

    Stimulant or Superfood?
Cacao contains subtle amounts of caffeine and theobromine. However, experiments have shown that these stimulants are far different when consumed raw than cooked.

    Default Theobromine

I think you are getting more theobromine than caffeine in the cacao nibs. But theobromine is a stimulant too!
