    Default Wild Edibles and growing

    Who here gathers wild edibles?
Marigold you juice em right :)

    What does everyone gather?
I'm really hoping when i'm back in the UK I can gather more - here pretty much all the wild stuff is subject to dog pee...

I have found nettles in the past and stickyweed (goose grass) and dock and wild garlic leaves which were great!! I think it's amazing how nature provide and the nutrients in wild stuff is FEELABLE.

I'm thinking when I move of planting things, one of the things (unless I can forrage) I was thinking would be easypeasy is dandilions - the leaves are great for the liver and more and the flowers are nice in salad :)

    Anyone grow stuff in pots??
I might be limited to pots so I was wondering how it is.
I would love to grow lettuces, that would save loads of money, the amount of spinach I eat I would need a field hehe And i'd like to do tomatoes in growbags too... oooh I can't wait!

    Anyone eat flowers??
I heard marigolds are good :)
My Dads great - he works in a workshop with real 'lads' and they stare at him when he gets his healthy salads out at lunch (they're all eating pot noodles) so he deliberately puts flowers and things in there just to freak them out

There are quiet a few wild edibles around SE Texas. I have picked and eaten muskadimes (wild grapes), dandelion (roots & leaves), ramps (wild garlic), plantain, dock, cattail, and greenbriar root ( but I haven't been brave enough to eat it, the cherokee indians used to).
