    Default another wow.....

Alison~ My 12-year-old nephew is autistic. I am so happy that this is working out for you. Many autistic people are very picky about what they eat. I am wondering if you've encountered this? Sean is very "active" and doesn't eat a lot, other than salty things like chex mix. I wish I could tune my brother into this, but he is totally brainwashed by the establishment on this one. (autism, causes, treatments, etc.) Basically he thinks nothing can be done. Very sad and hard for me to swallow at times. Geez - I did not mean to be a downer. I would love to keep hearing the wonderful progress you're having with this. I have read that blue-green algae is good for treating autism. Have you tried it?

Anyway, thanks for sharing and a big ((((hug)))) I know a bit about what your life is like!

That's incredible Alisson! You know, I take care of an autistic, blind and mentally disabled adult in my home. He has been with my family for 8 years now. He is 56 years old. Maybe your story is a sign for me to do more for him... he really surprises me sometimes even though his is severly mentally disabled, he does some things so wonderfully it is shocking- maybe this is his 'key'- thank you for raising the bar for me with him! I will post any progress I see in him too

Congrats and what an inspiration! It should only get more wonderful!

Thanks, everyone, for all of the support. Every day he surprises us with something. I had been feeling so hopeless about his condition lately, and now I feel hopeful again.

Sharon, Yes, I do think a lot of people with autism are picky eaters. My personal opinion is that it has to do with food allergies. They are choosing the foods that give their bodies that "high" feeling. I think grains and dairy do that to a lot of them. For my son, those types of foods give him what I call "brain fog".

    Cool

    Allison,

This is my first post, but I had to respond as the parent of a PDD-NOS child(and his sister has Down Syndrome!). I'm just researching going raw and it was cool to see that raw is helping your son.

My son is pretty high functioning but its kind of nice to hope that maybe going raw will help him in even a small way with his disability. Hopefully, it'll help his sister as well.

Anyway, I just wanted to say how cool it was that its helping and how much hope it may give others (or it did give me) that you posted about such a great accomplishment for you little guy. :)

    Thanks a bunch,

    Kirstyn

Allison, this is absolutely wonderful. God is so good. He's constantly watching over His children, and as someone else said He will finish the good work He has started in your son. One of my favorite scriptures is Jeremiah 29:11. For I know the thoughts I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Your little boy is going to be alright, he's in the palm of the Lords hand. :)

Alice, yes, the Lord is faithful, and He is in control.

Kirstyn, I'm glad my post was encouraging to you. I hope your children have success with the raw diet. I thought I would mention that I still do not give my son any raw sprouted grains. Even though they are raw, I don't think that is best for him.

    Allison
