Thinking of COOKED FOOD!!
Well, I MUST be detoxing, because I have manifested some very interesting symptoms in my body, UGH!
Well, so much for the fun and excitement of detox.
I have been thinking of cooked food for a few days now, and so I teasingly said to Dragggon, "Hey, let's go get some (insert any cooked food of choice)" and he said "the whole world is all out." I laughed so hard, I almost fell off my chair.LOL
he sounded like he was so serious. What a darling he is.
anyway, I figure I am detoxing, because I have manifested a yeast infection, which I used to have ALL the time when I was younger, but haven't had one in years, and I have manifested wanting some cooked meat based foods, which I haven't eaten in 11 years.
So, I just notice the thinking or wanting of these items, knowing full well, that I won't eat them, sometimes, I close my eyes, and think what my life was like when I ate cooked, how I felt, how I couldn't sleep, the extra 30 pounds, and how badly I felt in my joints, and indegestion, other times, I just say, "wow, what a weird thing to think of." and other times I just go get something raw to eat.
Each time is different, and each time is the same, as the food crosses my mind, I choose to NOT eat it, and to release it into the ethers, and to make the conscious choice of health and well being, instead of the instant gratification of the addictive substance that used to haunt my every waking moment.
Life is such an interesting journey, it's taken me 53 years to get this far, and it may take another 53 years to totally detox, or even longer, but hey, what am I gonna' be doing anyway? might as well get healthier and allow my body to heal itself.

RP,
I got rid of my yeast infection (the only one ever in my life), by bombarding my system with probiotics. I used yogurt, culterelle, kefier (Lifeway brand has 10 different bacterium) and ultraflora all at the same time. I got rid of it in four days. When you are trying to get rid of a yeast infection, you need to put more probiotics in than there are bad bacteria. You have to make sure you are getting 50 billion or so micro-organisms per day. If you don't you cant get ahead of the bad bacteria. I hear also that taking an antifungual will help also. I did not need to though.

Hello RP,
Do you happen to have on hand any Dragggon clones? I think I'm going to make a large sign and post it on my fridge door.... "The world is out." Brilliant!
Another thought on dealing with yeast infections (the yeastie beasties as I call them), a naturopath helped me and the biggest thing was nothing sweet (the only fruit I could eat was apples, pears and blueberries), and the probiotic she sold me was called HMF (HUMAN Micro Flora) by Genestra. Yep, it's human acidophilus and lactobacillus. She convinced to plunk down more money for it (the human stuff is a lot more expensive) by saying two things: First, I'm a vegetarian. Second, cows have 4 stomachs, so how can I expect the proper ratio for my one stomach?
I also stopped wearing tampons, and I think that helped the most. This was over 15 years ago, and I haven't had a yeast infection since.
And thank you for sharing your desires for cooked foods, I know I often have a hard time fessing up to a bite or two of something cooked. The other day I was cleaning out a bookshelf and found a vegetarian cook book of mine that has gorgeous pictures of cooked goodies. I found myself wanting to eat those pages!
It makes sense that you are craving something that you associate with the time when you had yeast infections in the past. One day at a time, the best thing is that you have your wonderful Dragggon.

Hi RP,
I picked out this quote because I hope others don't miss the opportunity to learn this very valuable and helpful exercise. Making the proper associations with foods that create disease is super important to the process of recovering from food addiction. We habitually think of cooked food as good because all our lives we've associated it with love, good times, family, etc. But cooked food is not love, it is a slow descent to misery and premature death. We can have love without the side effects.
I've battled yeast 'infections' during my healing too. Early in transition, getting rid of them is usually just a matter of cutting back on fat. If you're already eating low fat they can also be caused by too many dates or dried fruit, or starchy veggies (carrots, corn). In the latter stages of transition, when your body's very clean, healthy and sensitive, just overeating might cause yeast symptoms. I've had that problem, even as recently as a few months ago (I've been 100% raw 5 1/2 years), but it never gets full blown like it used to because I get very subtle signals, and I'm able to take steps to stop it. After a few years of practice, most people get very good at reading their bodies' little signals so as to avoid unpleasant symptoms. Fasting on water only is the quickest way to get rid of yeast symptoms. If you can't fast, eating simply of juicy fruits and tender greens will do the trick too, just a bit slower.
Best of luck to you!
Kindly,
Nora

Keep it up Raw priestress, you CAN do it. Besides, where else would you live if you couldn't live in your body? That's why its so important to stick to getting thru detox and to keep our bodies in well working order all the days of our lives.
