    Question Sick!!

I have been raw 2+ months 100% and havn't had bad detox or reactions except for a few breakouts on my back. Yesterday suddenly it was like I got hit by a train with allergy symptoms. I havn't had allergy symptoms for, gosh, years! It's like there was a barricade in my head that broke and everything is flowing if you get the picture. My throat is extremely inflamed and dark red and painful. My nose is now getting stuffy, and I've sneezed probably 20+ times today. WOWZERS! Would this be considered a "healing crisis"? I guess it's more of a cold kinda feeling. Oh, and I'm "puffy" so I'm guessing those may be toxins being released so my body can get rid of them. Anyone else have an experience like this?

I've not experienced this or at least not to the same extent as you...but if you used to suffer this years ago and ESPECIALLY if you took meds or anything that "stifled"/suppressed it, then more than likely it was bound to resurface again as your body cleanses of that old stuff.

Just try to eat as less as possible and get as much rest as you can but if/when you DO eat, make it stuff like oranges, melon, grapes maybe, lettuce...very light food.

    Hope you're feeling better soon!

    Talking re : 'sick'

Yes when I first went raw for a month or so I got really 'sick'.
Sore throat, runny nose, painful glands and achiness all over my body.
Just rest, rest & rest. Go to bed really early, drink heaps of water if you're not eating much, but also eat lots of watery fruit to flush out your system. Just think how you will feel once it's passed.

Oh, I'm so sorry you are going through this,

    and

I'm so happy you are going through this.

it is great to be finally ridding your body of all of this stuff, and yes, this would be considered a "healing crisis", and you will feel sooooooo good when it is over.

just rest, lots of liquids, dry sauna if you can, hot showers if you can't, scrub your skin, to allow the toxins to go bye bye, and more rest and more rest and more rest.

Sorry your "sick"!! It's not fun at all...but on the otherside like RP said it's a happy thing! Your body is cleaning out! I hope you can get through this with as much grace and ease as possible. :)

Thanks guys! I'm not doing anything stenuous, BUT I worked 8.5 hours yesterday and today...standing the whole time as a cashier at Kohl's. I'm actually sleeping less since this (woke up only after 6 hours of sleep last night and dind't feel tired). I'm definitely getting more than enough water :) and I'll try to eat a little less to let my body rest more internally.

    Hello,

Yesterday, I got the flu symptoms (stuffy nose, sore throat, coughing) really badly. I haven't gotten sick for more than 5 years. I'm not sure if it's related to detox from raw (I doubted) because I started 100% raw on Tuesday. The reason that I'm not sure is because I'm assuming that it's due to discontinuing my vitamin C supplement.

Detox can occure immediately after remvoing the offending foods. Think of caffine addicts! They get headaches and withdrawl sometimes hours after their last caffine fix if they don't get it again!

    Exclamation

I got worse today! I feel like I have the flu and hav ea fever of 102! I can't breathe wtih my nose at all and my eyes are so flat! That's how I know I'm "sick." Usually they're extremely shiney and sparkly...that's gone My appetite has completely dissappeareed, but that recovering from an ED voice kicked in and made me eat, but raw of course. I didn't eat any fats either.

I left work after only 4 dying hours! I had to work 7.5 but I knew I couldn't make it and feel guilty. I stopped by the grocery store to pick of some ingreidents for juicing (my mom's suggestion!). I did a green juice for the first time ever!

A HUGE back of baby spinach
    2 large granny smith apples
    4 large stalks of celery

It's quite good! I was always scared and reluctant to juice green since it doesn't seem natural do me (neither does drinking white stuff!), but now it seems perfectly normal. It is making me have more energy, but other than that I still feel horrible. I can't sleep, but I should. I can't talk lol, too stuff to try. I hope this goes away soon! How long can things like this last?

Linda1970 ~ When I go from SAD to raw (i've been yo-yoing for a while, I'm learnin I have detox "allergies" that DAY! Or I get headaches right or somthing else like that. Your gettin cleaned out!!! YAY! :)

Dreamrawalwz ~ This must be cleanin out ALOT! Lol. I hope you get to feelin better soon!

I love haven't had green juice in a while. Come to think of it last time I had it was when I was detoxing (my sister suggested it!lol)! Maybe I should give it a try soon...I usually have my green smoothies in the afternoons.

Thats so cool your mom suggested that!! Has she shown any interest in wanting to be raw? My mom is starting to ask some questions and is saying things like "Well if I was raw my moles would fall of and my hair would be healthier? Hmmm..." Then she wouldn't say anything and I would just say "Yes!" It kind of shocks me sometimes! But, I don't press her because she she bounces back quickly! Lol. So i'll just ease 'er on down! ;)

Emerald Glow- my mom is SLOWLY starting to incorporate raw foods. Usually it was only some blueberries on cereal with mlk. Now, she didn't do SAD, but she did eat cooked (steamed veggies, brown rice, whole grains, and lean chicken and fish). Now she's listening about food combining and trying to occasionally give her system a break by skipping breakfast. She now eats just a bowl of fruit for breakfast instead of her yougurt + fruit (no protein + fruit!). She was doing a salad for lunch (including ff cheese and organic hard boiled eggs). I guess it's a start right? Well, after a week she has only stayed with the fruit for breakfast, but as I've said...it's a start! My dad on the other hand...no where near close. He does eat the same things my mom does for lunch and dinner, but his "breakfast" consists of cottage cheese, milk (now soy milk!), beans (used to be baked, now just plain black, but canned still), a soft egg, and bottled apple juice. He made some itty bitty baby steps I suppose. They're slow, what can I say lol.

Yes, I hope this goes away soon!

The flu symptoms dissappeared as I slept, but I woke up with a sinus infection it seems. My face redness is faded today though, and a nasty black head that I had above my lip kinda...came out this morning. Hmm...

I havn't had allergies in YEARS and to my knowledge it wouldn't hit suddenly like this could it? It would be affecting me throughout the season. A another girl at work has the same symptoms as me though so, i dunno...I refuse to give in to my mom and agree it's allergies lol...she's not ALWAYS right
