Can someone help me get started eating raw?
Hello I am brand new to this site and eating raw. I would love to start the 30 day challange but it seems so overwhelming. I eat fairly well now. I love beans, veggies, and fruits. I have a 7 month old so I am limited on time since she cries most of the day.....Can anyone put me on the right track to getting started...maybe a meal plan or something (so it dosen't seem so overwhelming). I would greatly appreciate any advice and help.

What's great about raw is that it can be very simple. Salads of greens, veggies, and/or fruits are easy to throw together, and since you can buy organic greens in prepared salads at the store, that makes it even easier. And nothing is much simpler than peeling a banana or biting into an apple! Combine your banana with some crushed nuts to get some fat, or drizzle an olive-oil based dressing on your salad, and there you go!

I suggest (in addition to what Berrygirl posted) that you get Alissa's book. It will lay out an eating plan, tell you what you need to buy, how to stock your kitchen, give you motivation with inspirational stories of healing and weight loss, and more PLUS all the delicious recipes in there!
first, buy Alissa's book and DVD, then go to the produce section of any store, pick out at least two of every fruit and veggie you like to eat raw, take them home and eat them, then go back again and again.
You can also add raw nuts and seeds, and some raw oils and spices if you wish, once you check out the recipes on this website, and also in Alissa's book, you'll have a better idea of some fun and delicious meals.
But if you do nothing else, at least get yourself some of your favorite raw fruits and veggies and start eating.
Obviously on this site you're going to get a lot of recommendations to read Alissa's book because she sponsors this site and some of the posters here have gone through her classes. Alissa's book is a great book for beginners; but there are other books, web sites, articles, forums, etc that can also provide you with plenty of information on how to transition to a healthy raw vegan diet. Read and learn as much as possible.
- Increase the amount of raw, whole, fresh, ripe, organic fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds (sparsely)
- Decrease (eventually eliminating) the amount of other stuff
