Question Where to put my dehydrator??? Help!

I got my Exalibur 9 tray dehydrator today. We live in a small apartment, so I only have so much room. We're hoping to get a house in the summer, but until that happens.... I'm trying to figure out where to put my dehydrator.

I was wondering if I can place in on top of my stove/oven. It is electric, and I have unplugged the stove's electric cord from the wall. Is this a safe place for my dehydrator when the dehydrator is on?

It says in the safety manual to not place on or near a "hot" gas or electric burner or in a heated oven. Its ok since its off and unplugged to place it on top?

    Thanks!!

I used to have a wooden cutting board on top of my stove burners with the dehydrator sitting on top of that. Now, I found two glass pieces that were made to cover two burners at a time, so I replaced the cutting board with that ... and the dehydrator on top. Definitely put that useless stove to a good use!!

I know people who have taken out the oven racks, and the oven door, and have it inside the over, I have my 4 on top of one of the counters in my kitchen, but I keep thinking, I could build a tall rack with space for them all on top of each other.

I think on top of the stove is good, as long as it is unplugged or off.

if you are in an apartment, maybe the landlord will remove the stove for you, and you can replace it with shelves or a TV tray or small table, and use that.

I know other people who live in apartments, on the second floor and have it outside on the deck during the summer, when it can get the house too warm then they bring it back in the house in the winter, to use that electricity to warm the house.

our kitchen is always very warm.

    Thanks everyone!

RP.. that's a great idea about making a tall shelf for all your dehydrators. I have a feeling I'll be adding more dehydrators as our family expands in time.
