Angry Burned out my first blender

Agh, I'm so frustrated!!! I just burned out my blender trying to make a soup recipe that I got online. We don't have Vita-Mix available where I live, as far as I know, so I'm hoping the $200 I'm going to have to plunk down on a KitchenAid won't be money wasted. Hubby said he'd take me out tonight to pick a new one up. I have to have it today, I need my green smoothie in the a.m.!

I still have my kitchenAid blender that I used for raw foods for years,
    and it worked well.
I have a Vitamix now too that can do way more, but I think the Kitchenaid,
worked really good for raw soups and smoothies.
Just don't make nut butters or really heavy pates in it; use a food processor
    instead.

just a suggestion to hold off on your smoothies for a while and buy your blender via the internet where you can get a good kitchen aid blender for $80 with a $20 rebate at lowes right now .

I got a VitaMix brand new from the internet for $205 including shipping. It only took about 5 days to arrive. I love it.

You can find Vita mix machines on ebay for quite low prices i've noticed. Be sure to read the information carefully though, so that you don't miss out on anything.

Well, I ran right out last night and bought a new blender. It's a brand I've never heard of before, and can't recall at the moment, but the man at the store said it's the strongest one they had in stock. Plus it was half the price of the KitchenAid. It ended up being about $60, which isn't too bad. I'm hoping that when I go back to the US this summer to pick up a Vita-Mix. Most companies won't ship to Riyadh, or they charge about $70 to do so. So, fingers crossed, this new one will last at least until after summer vacation! :)

I got it off Ebay. The person had a very rating almost 100%, and it came right away, brand new in box, registration stuff, the whole nine yards.
