    Default Juicer Help!

    I need some input.

I am ready to retire my Sampson 6 in 1 Juicer. I was planning on replacing it with a Champion Commercial Juicer and a Wheateena Red Label. One for regular juicing one specifically for Wheatgrass (I haven't been happy with the Sampson for wheatgrass - alway wrapping around the auger, plus I have to run the pulp through twice and I have a crack in the screen disc from juicing wheatgrass on a regular basis)

Anyway, here is my questions/delima the people called who are building the wheateena. I told them what I was doing and she informed me that a Champion would kill the enzymes because it pulls oxygen into it and works at a highter speed. Anyone ever here of this. Am I making a wrong choice here. Almost every raw cookbook suggests using a champion.

    Please give me some feedback.

    Thanks,

    Mindi

    Default juicer

The Green Star Juicer has been suggested to me as it does not warm up the juice during the juicing process and something about less air??????

i cut my wheat grass into half inch bits then add to a blender quarter to half full with water then blend on high for a minute , then let sit say 10 minutes to allow nutrients to seep out of grass bits then strain , no need for a wheat grass juicer .

I believe that the Champion juicer is an auger juicer as well. They are not known for pulling oxygen into the juice. On the other hand, while Champion juicers are mentioned in a lot of books, that is because it was the best juicer around at the time. I believe that the technology has improved once or twice since then. Now the standard is the Gold Star juicer (they are by Twin Gear in the UK) which has two augers and magnets (I don't know what the magnets do to tell you the truth).

Can I ask why you are buying 2 juicers? I would think that if you bought the Twin Gear juicer then it would handle any of your needs.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

    Default Thanks you guys

I apprecial you input. I was looking into 2 seperate units to have the best of both. Another benefit would be that I could keep the Wheateena in my growing room. My Sampson was a 6 - 1 and I just wasn't impressed with its abillity to do wheatgrass. I figure if I spend all that energy growing my wheatgrass, I want the most out of it. I found a commercial champion for less $150.00 with free shipping . With the wheateena it adds up to less than the costs of my Sampson. I try to juice wheatgrass twice each day and use green juices/veggis too! I have always heard good things about the Champion and just don't want to make my juicer situation worse. I have read though that the Champion produces a thicker pulpier juice and has a harder time with soft fruits, I am not sure how much stock to place in some of the reviews online as they try to sell whichever product that they carry. My girls are already placing dibs on the Sampson!

Thanks so much, I always like to hear back from this group. There are so many knowledgeable people here.
