Sad Sweets Vs Raw Sweets
Ok can someone make this confused mind a bit less confused.
I know that in Alissa's book she states to eat all you want while transitioning. And it seems most people are leaning toward the "sweet" aspect of the foods for transitioning.
I need some clarification as to why the RAW Sweets would be that much better for you. Well, besides the obvious. Ok so we are getting away from the processed sugars.. I understand that aspect... but if we use agave or honey.. this seems to be just replacing one sugar with another... I do not see the sense in this even tho agave or honey may be better it is still giving sweet to the body.
Also.. if one is wanting to lose the weight.. which I know eventually one will on RAW..but alot of the recipes are nut filled. I probably have asked this before... but I am not understanding this.. Are all these nut filled recipes to help satisfy the stomach.. heavier and loaded with a "better" fat. but fat none the less? I know the fats in the nuts will satisfy.. but seems this is defeating a purpose if one wants health plus weight loss. Is it more for something different.. nuts are also very expensive for the amounts we would need on a regular basis... be it online or local.
I have tried to find this answer in Alissa's book.. but either I am not reading in the context I need to answer my questions.. or I am just plain dumb..could anyone point out what page will answer this question? I have stayed away from alot of the nut filled recipes because I suppose of the fat content.. hey I have enough fats on me don't need more and if the fats are what is clogging the blood I need to see the reasoning then behind why we should eat more??
I sure hope this makes sense.. I am truely needing some clarification.. hope someone out there can help.

You've pretty much answered your own questions. Honey and agave ARE more naturally sweet and IF one does not have the sweet taste, they will eventually succumb to SAD again. If you read posts here, people have all kinds of issues w/ the sweet taste whether it be honey and agave or sweet fruits. If it's sweet, it's bad. Well, it's not. The sweet taste needs to be used in balance with the other tastes which also include sour, salty, pungent, bitter and astringent.
As far as fats go, a major study has been done called The China Study, on various issues including fats. Fat in and of itself does not "clog the bloodstream". You may be thinking of cholesterol which is ONLY contained in animal products.
I can't tell you exactly how this food program works yet, many people have done it exactly as how Alissa recommends and become healthier in all aspects as well as weight transformation. Why not give it a shot? As many long-term raw foodies have discovered, the seed/nut period tends to be temporary. As their tastes become refined and their bodies cleansed of SAD, they become more instinctive in their way of eating and will eat less of the seeds and nuts.

RAW fats are different molecularily (is that even a word?) than cooked fats, they react in the body differently, also agave' is lower glycemic than sugar, and even honey reacts differently in the body that cooked highly processed sugars.
When I used to eat sugars that were cooked, I would eat until I dropped, couldnt' get enough.
Now I can eat a raw piece of truffle, and stop after one with no issues, or only eat 1/2 of a slice of raw pie, that is loaded with dates or agave' nectar.
It just doesn't react the same in the body.
also, I eat all I want and am losing weight, so all I know is it works for me.
If you try it for 30 days, it will work for you too. good luck.

Hi aromaticwings!
From what I have been reading from you, you are comming along just fine! Great information from Revvell and RP. All you need to do is keep those little things in mind but not dwell on them. They aren't as important as your goal...the best healthy you. You are at the point where all you need to do is embrace and enjoy your experience. Eat as much as you want, experiment with receipes, leave yourself alone and don't weigh yourself for about 3 wks or so. Keep in mind there will be so many other things to marvel at in the beginning of your journey as a result of being completely raw.
Enjoy your journey and have fun!

all this is true but sometimes it is needed to understand the "whys" in order to go further... I have not stopped my journey and will continue to eat as raw as my finances allow.. beleive me... if I am the one buying the groceries.. the tables are turned in this house.. hubby gets to be eating the raw foods and having to wonder what to eat if he does not want to eat what I bought.. so far tho.. my journey is better without so many nuts... maybe because my tummy has gooten used to the lighter things and something like nuts which would be harder to digest then say fruit.. it says no to... lazy tummy ..hehehe
But thanks to all for their input...
I will continue... and RP I will keep this in mind...
