I love her DVD, I watch it all the time, and her book is amazing, I now have purchased 3 of them one for me, one for my son, and one to keep by my computer to answer questions with. LOL
I can't get enough of Alissa!!!

I just got Alissa's book in the mail yesterday, and I have already read about 150+ pages of it. I was so exciting to know it finally came in the mail. I also got a nut milk bag (although I don't have a blender yet) and some of her goji berries. Her goji berries taste so much better than the storebought ones!
When I was reading the book, and I was reading her 14 day diet, do you know if that is something to strive to? I know if I ate how she ate, which I eat almost 100% raw, I would lose weight, or at least I think I would. (I don't need to lose weight, I am 5'9" and weigh around 122) So, when I have been 100% raw for a while, does you body just not need as much food so you can survive on smaller amounts of food? I am just confused on the little amount of food Alissa eats and still workouts, and still looks fabulous.

Essentially, my understanding is that when you're on raw for awhile, your body become highly mineralized, and therefore doesn't require as much food to stay healthy. I think it's pretty common for long-time raw foodies to eat a LOT less than the rest of the population would consider "normal." They just don't require as much bulk to satisfy nutritional needs because they are "clean" and absorbing everything.
That's not very science-y, but just my take!

That makes sense, onesmartcookie. I guess right now since I am not completely raw, nor have I been raw for a long time, it will take a while to get up to the mineralized level that Alissa is at. One day, though, I will get there.
