Default Great Honey $ Deal + Info.

I ordered honey today from eBeeHoney.com. : $29 for a gallon of raw, unheated, unprocessed clover honey right from the hive - just put through a mesh screen to remove bee parts. The shipping was only $7 (from Ohio to Pgh.) and will be here in two days. The website was SO informative about the amazing health benefits of raw honey - so much to read. I called and talked to the owner (Glenn Magrum), who was very helpful and informative also - a pleasure to do business with - they are a small husband/wife beekeeper company with high quality products. I picked the clover honey but there were many other types of honey and other products too.

sounds like a really good price for raw honey.

I don't use honey, as it is not vegan, but some rawbies do.

Thought you washed your hair and skin with it.

Personally, I eat it. Had a throat/voice problem beginning last Wed. So much pain I couldn't swallow. Got some raw eucalyptus honey from the farmers' market, took some of that, pain went away. Such good stuff! Anti-bacterial amongst other things.

Raw honey is so much better than the commercial brands. I'll keep the company you mentioned in mind, thanks for sharing!

RP- I was looking around for information about using honey on skin and hair (which is how I found this post) as well as one from a couple of weeks ago. In later post you stated:

"I use plane old regular SAD honey to wash with and save the good stuff to go inside, my son loves honey, I mostly use dates in my food preparation, except a few desserts that really are better with honey.

anyway, yep honey is great, just use it, and wash with it, great for face and body too, and it will NOT lather, but it will make you so super clean and smelling fresh and wonderful, if you feel like you need a rinse, you can use lemon juice for fair hair (it will add light highlights if you are out in the sun) or you can use black malva, tea, coffee, sasafrass etc for dark hair, you just make a tea, and then when it is coolish, you pour over hair, no need to rinse, unless you choose to,

you can also use coconut water, which adds a beautiful sheen to your hair, makes it super silky, very nice for long hair."

??? Confused as to why you would say otherwise in your post to this thread. ???

    I'm sorry I wasn't clear,

I do not INGEST honey, I now use agave' nectar.

I wash my hair and face with it, although I am transitioning out of that also, I am now only washing once a week or so with honey, and the rest of the time with fresh fruit, so will be totally vegan soon.

I was reading a thread the other day, talking about this, and I decided to go vegan.

I used to say I was vegetarian, and someone said, "either you are vegan or you are not."

and I thought that sounded right to me, so have decided to stop using honey even on my body and hair.

so am going to fresh fruit smashed up instead, it is interesting to say the least, as I try different things on my hair and body, some is great, others is just squishy.LOL

What kinds of fruit seem to work the best in your hair?

I've been tempted to use avocado, especially if I get overly ripe ones that couldn't be eaten, but haven't yet.

Most store purchased conditioners (even natural, organic brands) make the skin on my neck and face breakout.
