What do I do with pulp?
I have juiced carrots and parsley and love it. I have also done oranges. What do I do with the pulp? Are their very many uses for it? Thanks
What I don't use in recipies, I put into our compost pile outside.
If I decide to use carrot pulp in a carrot cake recipie, for example, I will peel the carrots first before I juice them as the peelings are very bitter to me.
I'm sure there are other answers here as well yet, if you do a search there are other threads on this topic.
For me, all the pulp I get from juicing goes into my smoothies. Other uses would be to find some recipes ~ burgers and such in which you can use the pulp. Do you have a dehydrator?
if I juice my fruits or veggie's I usually just eat the pulp. Or Ill mix the pulp of the veggie ie., carrots, dandelion stalk and leaves and in a couple of onions sliced up and addit to a green leafy salad. For the fruit pulp, some of it you can freeze for later that week or mix it togather and make a fruit salad. I used to take the pulp from mangos and mixed it with banana's for a tasty fruit snack
veg pulp - make sauerkraut. if you don't want to eat it all, you'll have lots of neighbours/family/friends who will.
fruit pulp - smoothies and sometimes cakes. if you can't use it all immediately, freeze it. its a terrible waste to throw it away.
I love to take carrot/celery pulp (or whatever I juiced with the carrot) and make crackers out of it.
I throw it all in the food processor wtih some ground flaxseed, seasonings like chili powder and cumin, sea salt (or whatever you use), lemon juice and add water until it is the consistency that is spreadable.
I love these crackers, they are my favorite of any I have ever tried.

BETTER THAN BEEF
By Matt Samuelson
4 cups pulp from your juicer of carrot, parsnip and/or celery root
1 cup sun-dried tomatoes, soaked one hour or more and pureed in a blender
1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil or flaxseed oil
1/3-1/2 red onion, finely minced
3 tsp. onion powder
2 tsp. garlic powder
3 tsp. chili powder
2 tsp. cumin powder
¼ tsp. cayenne
1 tsp. celtic sea salt
1 Tbsp. unpasteurized dark miso paste
Using your hands, mix all ingredients together well in a large bowl. Let sit for an hour or more for flavors to meld.
Best served just after warming in the dehydrator at 105 degrees.
Currently lurking behind wheatgrass...........
In addition to the previous suggestions I also sometime give it to my neighbors son for their chickens :)
Veni, Vidi, Veggie
I came, I saw, I ate a vegetable
I run the pulp through my juicer several times and usually get almost as much juice from that as the first time. The pulp can go on the compost pile, I keep some out after the first juicing and put on my salads, it can be used in other dishes, mix with other ingredience for dehydrated crackers
I don't want to be a let down, but this is what my mom discovered: Sometimes we feed the squirrels and they eat almomst everything fruit and veggie wise. She put the pulp after juicing out and they wouldn't touch it! There were absolutely no vitamins left in them. My DOG wouldn't even sniff it! She's the vaccum! I just thought it was interesting!
