I want to thank everyone who has participated in this RawFoodTalk.com forum. There have been some amazing exchanges here and so many words of wisdom spoken. But its time for me to close this board. I am moving on to new ventures and feel that its time for me to let this go. A forum of this size takes loads of money, time and energy. I have not been keeping up with the forum upgrades, the spam problems, etc…. which is resulting in many disgruntled emails and people calling the office daily. I’m sorry to disappoint the many of you who have spent your time and wonderful words of help and inspiration here. I hope that you have all benefited from this board and that it has helped you on your path to optimal health. I know many of you have made lasting friendships here as well. I will leave this board up for a month of so, so that you may copy what you need and any information you would like to save.
Thank you for being part of the RawFoodTalk.com community! It’s been a wonderful ride! I’m looking forward to seeing what’s next for all of you and of course, you can keep up with my adventures through my blog, Facebook and twitter. I am continuing my certification trainings and there will be some exciting new classes, events and projects coming into fruition in the near future!
Hi everyone, exciting news! Alissa just added another 5 day training (starting July 20th) to her roster.
We are going to have to cut the May one off within the next week. There are still so many people wanting to come that she had to add more dates. The one in September is already half full. She is trying to keep the classes from getting to large as the individual attention is so important to her. We are cutting this one off at 30.
This email below is from Schall, one of our teachers. This was posted on the raw teacher forum board but I thought you all may want to read it and get inspired. Schall quite her job a couple of weeks after coming to AlissaÂ’s training in January. She made thousands of dollars the first weekend after the training doing 2 classes!
---------------------------------
I know it has been a while since I posted, but as most of you know I have been, well, VERY BUSY!!! Just to give you an idea about the magnitude of our calling....
I have now certified about 40 people, and I have 31 others registered for classes over the next 6 weeks - 13 of them for both levels. Nevada home magazine contacted me and did an interview with a photo lay-out of a raw dessert, the Reno Gazette journal called me yesterday and interviewed me over the phone, cookingevents.com contacted Janine after her tradeshow and we are booked to do 4 demonstrations at the event - they even comped us a booth! We are also going to Portland where we will do 3 food demos at three different Wild Oats - speaking of Wild Oats, the one in Reno asked me to do a food demo at their booth at The Nevada Women's Expo last week - my raw food demo attracted twice as many people as the other demos did! Two rows of standing room only behind the seated guests!
5 of my students have their first level 1 scheduled, 2 of them already ordered their websites!
I have many teachers calling me and also students who are registered for Alissa's teacher certifications wanting to know how I am doing what I am doing. I think the most important part is to understand the need. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO NEED US TO SHOW THEM HOW TO MAKE THE FOOD. I say it over and over! If you understand that people NEED us, it takes away the fear - you aren't pushing anything on anyone. You know what 3 words I hear EVERYDAY?
"I'm so excited!" yes - I do not exaggerate when I say that I hear those words everyday! Everyone I talk to about the classes says it. How's THAT for a job! They so desperately want to know how to make raw food. WE can teach them.
Please see the truth in this - if you do not help them - who will? I would love to teach them all! but the truth is there are too many people who want and need what we can teach - YOU ARE NEEDED! I just can't stress it enough - YOU ARE NEEDED! Please be available to them - the world needs raw food.
Love to all,
Schall

I'm not anywhere where I need to be in my raw journey (I haven't lost my weight yet - I'm 4'11" and 160, I've only lost 12 lbs so far). I am toying with the idea of taking the classes but I feel that I'm not at the point where people will take me seriously? Please share your thoughts.

Yes, I believe people WILL take you seriously! For one, you lost 12 pounds...it's not only 12 lbs. but you lost 12 lbs. That's great and it can be an inspiration to someone!
Secondly, you may not be where you want to be in your raw journey NOW...but I guarantee you that once you go to the training and experience what you are about to experience, you will be so pumped and motivated!
You have a story to tell and things to share and you will come back equipped to help people learn how to go raw, make the food, and live this lifestyle!
Not to sound offensive to anyone in anyway...but how many people religiously follow what their doctors and nutritionists say about health REGARDLESS of how that professional looks? Think about it. People listen to them and trust them because the feel they know what they are talking about. You will know what you are talking about and that is what will draw people...that and your enthusiasm about this lifestyle of eating raw foods...your passion!
I think the training will be just what you need to personally get to where you want to be in your raw journey and you will also be able to help others get to where they want to be as well!
Hi Becky and congrats on your decision to take the class!
A juicer is not necessary! A blender is necessary...not necessarily a Vita Mix...I did my first 3 classes with a Hamilton Beach blender as I just recently got a Vitamix when my husband bought it for me.
So, you have the dehydrator, food processor...get a blender and maybe a CITRUS juicer (electric ones are great) and/or a reamer (like what Alissa has in the DVD juicing lemons with) and you're all set!
Hi rawdelight. The May class has only a couple of seats left and then it will be cut off so if you are thinking of going, don't hesitate too long!.
Elian, a part of Alissa's class actually covers the exact concern you expressed in your post! You will find the students in Alissa's class very diverse and very openminded. There are people who have just started raw all the way up the spectrum. Going to her class has really helped a lot of people have a life transformation and propelled them into a deep rooted raw food lifestyle. So don't hold yourself back for false expectations. :)
Becky, Alissa looks forward to meeting you! Rawkinlocs gave you some great answers and it sounds like you are almost all set to go! Yeah, how exciting!
The May Class is full with 35 people.
We now have the July and September ClassÂ’s but they are filling fast!

Oh and these will be held at our new bed and breakfast/ live food center! (I donÂ’t have an official name of what we will call it yet)
