    Default Fasting to cure C&C

    Hello,

First my english isnt very good but I will try to explain my problem as well as I can. Since some weeks ago I am fasting on fruitsmoothies and veggiesmoothies to cure C&C, constipationcase. I know juicefasting is recommended for this case but at the moment I havent got a juicer. At first everything seemed to be going perfectly fine but in the last days I havent flushed or felt need to. Also, and maybe because of that, my stomach has began to swell again after eating; not at all to the size that was the case when I ate normal veggiefood but at least a little. Is it the normal procedure that these things changes from time to time during fast or could it be that I only do smoothies and not juices?

By "flushed" I meant Nr 2. Think I misunderstood the use of the term.

    Hi there Daddeln,

I'm sorry, Smoothies are not considered fasting (technically speaking).

Confused, Are you drinking smoothies and using some eliminator?

Fasting can be beneficial for [some] with constipation issues--it depends on your stomach/digestive issues.

Oh I should have known that. I bought a juicer last week but it will take some time until it arrives and 'til then I thought that it would be better with a smoothiediet than the usual stuff because when eating normal veggiefood my stomach gets blown up like a ballon. I've read about the eliminatorthing on here for the first time so I don't really know about those things. Is it so that healing and detoxification will only occure when also removing the fibers from the diet by going all-juice?

Are there any guide for the juice and waterfastings on the net? Or other useful information about how to go about with fastings?

    Daddeln,

If you are trying to get rid of constipation and to have normal bowel movements, you do not need to fast. If you eat all raw and living foods, your bowels will move several times a day.

If you eat all raw fruits, vegetables, salads, and some soaked nuts and seeds, you will be amazed at how your digestive system will begin to work perfectly. Add in especially some flax seeds.

Many of us who now eat all raw had this problem, but just eating "normal" raw foods will cure it!!

Best of luck - be well.

Thank you very much for the answer. I thought it shouldnt be necessary to do the 30-day fasting for it. I've read David Kleins book on the topic and he guides greatly through the process. So for about 2 weeks ago I changed diet to all-raw diet limited to only veggies and fruits on his recommendation. The reason I asked about the fastingthing was that under the healingphase one should avoid seeds and nuts according to what I've read so for the moment I have quite low energylevel and need to get through some exams in school. Thats why I thought maybe it would be better to wait until its done and then do a juicefast for a more throughly cleansing and also I was a bit unsure how much the fiberintake slows the healingprocess.
    What is flaxseeds?

    Daddeln,
Glad you have David Klein's book "Self Healing Colitis & Crohn's " I bought it for my Mom and I really like the thought of her healing her Crohn's. It seems like a very simple plan to follow because it is for a short period of time. Try it perhaps after your exams as he really also recommends stress reduction.

Best of luck in your healing!

Yes I will do like that. Until then I will go on a low-protein diet with mostly smoothies even though it makes me a bit exausted.

    Thanks for your support!
