    Default Water Transportation

What do people use to transport water. I have a brita water filter and when I go out, I usually use some glass bottles to take water with me. THe problem is that the caps(THese are used 16oz bottles that once had tea in them) are starting to rust. Anyone use corks? I am trying to liimit exposure to plastics in as many reasonable ways as possible. And glass bottles will last forever as opposed to the plastic ones.

I agree. I use glass Pellegreno bottles. They make my bag heavier than if I used plastic but it is a small price to pay. I always try and save them and bring them back home with me for reuse.

I have the BIG brita at home, yes, but for on the go I like the portable Brita bottle , because then wherever I am when I run out of water I can just fill 'er up again and keep going. Plus the one I got fits in the bottle holder on my bicycle. I don't like to carry glass because of weight and breakability.

Yes, that's nice, and I always liked the Mukilteo - Clinton Ferry when I lived on Whidbey Island. Except late at night during the winter, when the hill down to the dock is slippery and you can be in line way on time and still miss the last boat home Friday night, when it sucks big time.

But the best, the alltime best is the Anacortes to Sidney BC (Victoria) Ferry that stops in the San Juan Islands. You not only get atrociously gorgeous scenery, with the water and the mountains and the islands and all, but you get to see bald eagles and puffins and dolphins and orcas. And Friday Harbor is fun, if a little over-touristy during "the season."

This made me laugh!!! On the topic of ferries though... I used to love the ride on the ferry to Vancouver island, especially early in the morning when the fog was out.

Well call me "ornary" but I hate all ferries. The last time that I was on one I was sick for 3 weeks afterwards. I brought up so much stuf that my tummy took that long to get over it.
