    Question I feel squishy....

I am totally serious about this despite the funny title.... :)

I have lost about 35lbs so far and i am on day 12 of 100% RAW. Up until now the weightloss has felt very normal. At about day #10 I started to feel "squishy". That is the best way I can describe it.

My theory is that my fat is softening so it can leave my body. (I still have about 30lbs to lose.) My fat always, sadly, felt quite firm.

Has anyone else experienced this as they were losing weight on 100% Raw? I am doing pilates, and have no problem with stepping it up. Just would like some advice from someone who has gone through it already. Thanks!

Sorry if this is in the wrong spot. It's not really an excercise question. More a general what is going on with my body on RAW question. Didn't know where to put it. :)

I have always heard that fat gets jiggly and squishy when it's breaking down and ready to be released from the body. Mine is too ---I'm choosing to focus on and affirm how my body will be when my weight loss is a done deal. Firm, tight, lean, strong and beautiful! And I've got plenty more than 30 lbs to lose!

Where your attention goes, the energy flows! Flowing attention and energy along toward my ideal body! It already exists and I am simply aligning myself with it more perfectlly each day, til it CAN'T NOT happen!

    Default Flapping in the breeze!

Yes, I am also feeling very 'squishy'. Everything is starting to get jiggly and squiggly and flapping in the breeze particularly my inner thighs. I know it is the weight loss but I feel so yucky and unattractive right now. But, it is a good thing. I know it is..I know it is.. and if I say that enough I'll really know it is!

Oh, THAT'S what that is?!? same thing happening to me.

I took an infrared sauna yesterday and was reminded of what rawprietess suggested, that you can massage the fat deposits to help them break up and that fat becomes liquidfied at high temps, so I did that a lot yesterday during the sauna and I noticed being much less "squishy" this morning, and some pretty significant inch loss.

I also started Bikram yoga, adn with all that sweating and yoga stretches, that probably works really well too.

Same here... I would say it feels softer and less tough. I've been feeling the side of my bum the last couple of days, and it's feeling fab, (so soft!) I'm so happy to feel it, b/c deep down I really thought that it meant that the fat was breaking down. Thanks everyone for confirming this for me... YAY!! So excited to lose more weight.

Does anyone know WHY it goes squishy though? Or maybe have a possible theory? I'm curious to know what is happening to the fat cells that makes them 'squishy'. And how long after the 'squishiness' begins does it disappear? I'm going through the same thing right now and am wondering what happens next?
I tried doing a search online and couldnt come up with anything.

    Teehee....I love that word "squishy".

I think what you are experiencing is the fact that your skin is loser as much as it is the fat softening. I do not think, I may be wrong !, that fat does not have varied degrees of hardness. Your skin will stretch to accomodate the fat, some fat is under skin and some fat feels harderas it is deeper, more internal. So as you lose weight the skin is loose as there is not as much fat under it. Thus the loose flappy "squishy" feeling.

In time, depending on age and weight loss, diet and hydration your skin will tighten up. Try putting grapefruit oil on you skin (I out it on with my lotion) to help the skin, aloe is good too and internally eat grapefruit (bodybuilders secret a the week of a show ) & lecithin (non GMO) will help.

I had actually read that as you start burning fat it first becomes less dense, then bit by bit gets smaller. That makes sense to me - I've seen the same thing!!

I have noticed that I seem to have developed big lumps of fat, especially under my middle section "tire". It feels like there are sections of fat.

Yes, mine is the same way.... squisy is a good way to describe it. I've lost over 50 lbs, and have well over 30 more to go... my inner thighs, abdomen and stomach area especailly have that squisy feeling.

My idea is that the fat is softening up and ready to exit the body, because I noticed that the squish fat can squish into a size smaller in clothing then I normally wear, and it appears the fat is disolving or something, does that make sense?

I think Raw Figure is exactly right.....your body fat is disappearing faster than the skin can tighten and keep up. This is why so many gastric bypass people go in for skin tightening surgery after their weight disappears so rapidly.

My daughter has a teacher that the kids calls "the bat" because the skin hangs off her triceps and flaps. (kids can be so cruel, but that's another subject) She eats horrible crap all the time, so the chances of her skin tightening up aren't all that good....however, healthy skin regenerates and will conform to your new size over time. Especially when you are keeping your body in optimum shape with a wonderful, fresh diet that makes those skin cells robust and doing their job with health and vigor.
