Poop!
I'm sure you probably get this newbie question a lot- I did search the forums but couldn't find anything?
Okay... poop!
Without getting all Gillian Mckeith on everyone, how do people find going to the toilet when they're eating 100% raw? Is it noticably different to non-raw? I imagine it's softer and more frequent?
BTW this question is for both the detox and full time RAW peeps!
Thanks :)

si
softer & more frequent. more regular.
you might experience some discomfort through detox..but usually the discomfort will be eliminated with the BM.

On cooked food you dont even realise you were constipated all the time until you go raw & actually start going normally! So easy, light & not stinky! It's an unbelievable difference cooked vs raw!

I saw a tv show once where an Indian wiseman stated to a whiteman that you know you are healthy by the smell of your "poop" Or should say lack of smell. Also Again.. can not remember where I read this because I have read so much.. but it has been said that if you are eating correctly your poop should not smell and should float instead of sinking to the bottom of the toilet..
For me this has been so true.. especially if I have greens...

3 to 4 times a day, vs 2 times a week
light and floating
dark and sinking
much easier, and hardly any toilet paper.
as my hubby looks over my shoulder, saying, "Only raw foodist talk so much about poop."
he is so very right.

HUGE LOL!! I swear my hubby is like that too to me and my staring at the bowl. I guess I try to see how well i digest things...I feel like someone must on Wallstreet staring at the stock market changes...
Anyways for me...the changes....
more frequent--3-4x's/day
lighter
no straining
i DO still get constipated at times BUT other factors like sleep, stress, and hormones play a role too....
Keep raw and give it a few months and you will see!!:)

LOL, thanks for sharing all!
I'm looking forward to green poo... maybe we should have a gallery area for this kind of thing....uh, maybe not

Yo this is such a funny question but so common I the RAW lifestyle.
I average 2 to 4 a day. Sometimes though I still get constipated too. Still learning and growing

Haha this is embarassing to me so I don't know why I'm responding, but...depending on waht I eat a lot of it changes colors: green, orange, red, ect. If I have a lot of broccoli, it smells like broccoli. If I had a lot of red pepper the day before it definitely smells like red pepper haha.

Just being Vegetarian alone has improved my bowel habits.
The only time I have a fowl smell is when I've had cheese, or way o much cabbage i then it just smells like a bit of old cabbage.
The cool part is the unobtrusive flatus, especially when eating lots of berries. I just smell like a big Strawberry fart!
DAILY BM"S are a God send especially first thing in the AM without any prompting, as natural as a morning pee. Poop on demand is my favorit. when I've eating to much yucky stuff I ca enjoy a glass of real OJ and some Peanut Butter on toast and go within minutes, 'cause there is no rottenn 5 day old meat blocking the path!
LIBERATING it is!!!
It is, therefore, evident that it is possible to cure by foods, aliments and fruits; but as today the science of medicine is imperfect, this fact is not yet fully grasped. When the science of medicine reaches perfection, treatment will be given by foods, aliments, fragrant fruits and vegetables, and by various waters, hot and cold in temperature.

I was really afraid I was going to have diahrrea and gas! Well none of the above. I say my stools are comfortable, and soft and easy to pass. I do not feel gaseous that much either. I do have to watch out with dried apricots though.....

Well, I simply must join in on this discussion of poop!
It has been a question in my mind because since going raw 3 weeks ago, I've had anywhere from 3 - 7 bowel movements a day. It seems like as soon as I eat something, I know that within an hour or two........something else has to come out!
After reading your comments, I must say....I think I am detoxing because my experience has been not so pleasant in the olfactory department. (trying to be subtle here!?) But hey, it's only been a few weeks right? I have a lot of chicken and eggs to get rid of. I was not a dairy person but had to kick a coffee/espresso addiction. Of course, with raw, that only took two days and the cravings were GONE! Amazing.
Does anyone have any advice for how long it might take for my BM's to sort of even out and smell nicer?
Sorry if that's gross but it does kind of have me wondering!!!

Mine are light, floating, and frequent. I "go" every time I have a meal. And yes, less toilet paper. It amazes me how even considering the fact that I go so much more often, I spend so much less time in the bathroom. :)
