I really do understand and acknowledge that a few of you find the calculations that are computed comforting and that they keep you safely nourished.

You like this. That's cool for you.

But ... none of that changes the fact that what it is telling you doesn't pertain to a body nourished by raw and living food and, further, is based on unsound information (sorry, but I do not trust the government's interpretation of nutrition), referred to by brainwashed health professionals, and is devised by a system and in a way that may very well be found erroneous at some later date.

And -- it is one-size-fits-all, which is ludicrous. If Sergei Boutenko had entered in what he was eating, it probably would have said it was all okay ... and, if he followed its guidelines, he wouldn't have healed himself of diabetes by intuitively eating case after case of blueberries. Fitday would have told him he was getting too much of whatever it says the R.D.A. is of the nutrients in blueberries!!

I know by how my body feels when I've been eating, oh say, too many nuts (which for me at this point is anything more than 7 to 10). I don't need some computer to tell me that. There are more days in a week that I don't eat any than those that I do.

A couple of months ago, I lost all desire for coconuts (I was eating at least one young Thai coconut a day) and, actually, the thought of one turned my stomach. So -- I gave away the couple I had and didn't buy any more. Also, didn't want any coconut oil/butter.

My body didn't want any root vegetables for about nine months. Still doesn't have much of a need for them. I don't know why. I do suspect it's because our bodies don't need root vegetables. I'm rather a naturalist and it doesn't make sense for us to ruin a plant by pulling up its roots whereas eating its leaves or tops doesn't kill it. But, that's another whole topic.

In the morning, my body wants lemon-water and fruit. The fruit desires change with the season.

I crave green leaves. When I eat them, I feel light and energetic.

Yes, I started this journey being guided Alissa's book and trusting Alissa's philosophy which is very strongly against measuring and calculating and, yes, that using fitday.com, is not only unnecessary, it's detrimental to most people's success on raw.

But now, my own experience and trusting my own body has led me to the same conclusion. (Plus, honestly, it just complicates the idea of eating for me. It's so gloriously simple now.)

Again, I acknowledge that you both (or several) feel differently. If it works for you, again -- that's great.

But -- I just want to make sure that it's stated here strongly (for the hundreds that lurk and read here as they seek for success in their living foods lifestyle) that this isn't what Alissa supports.

Peace -- and happy counting! ;)

BTW when I used fitday it wasn't to track my individual nutrients like vitamins, minerals, etc. It was to look at my calonutrient ratios - fats, carbs and proteins. I believe fresh plant food is balanced perfectly with nutrients we need.

I think that may be the difference in my case.

When I started using Fitday.com, about 4 days ago, I have lost 2 lb.s after not having lost a lb for 2 months. I discovered from fitday that I was taking in twice the calories that I thought I was. It helped me to at least control what I was eating and I will probably continue to use it until I lose about 70 lbs.

I used to use fitday.com to find out if I had enough nutrition. It was back when I was new to raw food. Now I share RawTruth opinion on nutrients.

I started using it again. I gave my password to my success buddy and she is now guarding my eating. Since I can't lie her, there would be no more binges.

    Fiddler,

My stance is still the same as it was back in April.

Knowing our calories and nutrients is helpful. Even though calories/nutrients may vary because of sources, our bodies still respond accordingly to the quantities and qualities of our food.

Eat fresh, whole, ripe, raw, organic foods.

Notetaking and Accountability is a valuable tool in any discipline.

    Cheers,

I haven't tried it; I would probably have a hard time, as my usual lunch is a salad made of whatever veggies, tomatoes, and avos I have on hand. I'd have to weigh each ingredient, instead of weighing the whole thing as I do now.

And I agree about the information being unsound. You can't trust the government. It pays farmers to grow things, and pays other farmers not to grow things.

Politicians lie in cast-iron sinks. ;) Listen only to monoticians.
