    Default when do you start your plants indoors?

    I have a light, containers, and space-but I don't know when is the right time to start from seed?

    That depends on what you're growing and where you live. Your seed packets should give a general idea of when to plant them. Last year, I started some things in Dec. But I live in WA and I can plant things outdoor in March or April. This year I didn't start anything indoors. I have a little greenhouse and I will do all of my planting outside. I intend to buy some plants and some seeds.

    im guessing in new england your in same zone 5 im in and if so plant now . for plants like tomato and pepper i plant 8 weeks before the last hard frost annual average which here is like may 10 . so your on late side for sure , but you can just plant smaller starts in around mid may and theyll just about catch up to larger starts . good day :) ps - i dont have to guess , i know your in same growing zone as me so start now .

    Hi Purl,

    I'm in the Boston area, and I already have a lot of seeds started on my window sills, especially the longer germinating heat loving things like peppers, which can take 2 - 4 weeks just to sprout. And when I was at Lexington Gardens yesterday, I saw 6* tall tomato plants on sale. So get crackin! :)
