    Question Fasting for Constipation

Not to be gross, but I've struggled w/chronic constipation for 10+ years - going about 1x every 2 weeks! I've been doing raw for a few months now, and am so much better, but still not regular.

I'd really like to do a fast and help with detox - so does anyone know which juices are particularly good for the intestines? Or which type of fast they'd recommend for my issues? I can't do the Master Cleanse cause I live in Mexico and can't find natural maple syrup anywhere! So any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

    I agree with soprofound!

    Spinach, spinach, spinach!

Also, I have found that beet juice can really get things moving, and moving fast. I just finished a seven day water fast, and last fall I did a 32 day juice fast. I can tell you that my digestion has gotten better each time, and that regularity is no longer a problem.

    Good luck to you!

Thanks so much for the suggestions - I actually went out and bought a bunch of spinach today, and I'll try it out!

I just finished a 19 day juice fast...and I am no longer constipated. I was really afraid of being constipated b/c I did enemas during my fast. I was scared to be dependent on it. My bowel movements started to regulate 3 days after my fast.
And the last two days, I have been so regular. I hope it stays this way. I am so happy with the result. Even when I ate raw before I was still constipated. I really do believe in the power of fasting. I may even consider doing another one in the future.

Red Grapes & Kiwi... could you please elaborate on what types of juices you used for your juice fast? And what a normal day was like for your (your intake)? Especially for you Kiwi, since it helped with your constipation? I'd really appreciate it!

Today I am going back 100% to raw! Well I'm committing to anyway!! But in 2 weeks I hope to start my fast, so I'm researching & preparing...thanks SO much for all the help!
