Default New here 4 days raw, lots of healing to do

    Hi everyone!

I'm Jacque, I have lived with chronic pain, fibromyalgia, anxiety, etc. for as long as I can remember. (At least 2 decades) In spite of the daily struggle with these challenges, I somehow manage to function but it feels like I'm just existing, not living. A few years ago I went totally raw for 4 months and my health improved. However, I lost so much weight that everyone was treating me like I was anorexic and pressuring me to eat cooked food. After 4 months I started adding cooked food back in and in no time at all I was completely back to a S.A.D. diet. My health has continued to go downhill ever since. I want my life and vitality back!! I need support because I get zero here in my community and family. I live in a very small town, I don't have access to organics or specialty food stores so I buy the fruits and veggies that are available and do the best I can. Anyone that has dealt with chronic pain, anxiety, depression, etc. and come out of it with raw food, I would love to hear from you.

    Thanks to all,

    Jax :)

    Hi and welcome Jax!

Yes, there are many of our members here to have suffered from fibromyalgia, pain, depression...if you do a search in the Raw Food Discussion forum area for the word "fibromyalgia", you'll find a few threads on the very subject and get to see others' experiences!

Any questions you may have regarding that or raw eating, feel free to post in the Raw Foods Discussion section :)

Best to you and your health!

I had exactly the same thing when I went raw last time. My friends, my family all accused me of having an eating disorder to the point where I became convinced I HAD actually developed one. I even had MY BOSS of all people pull my aside and tell me he and other colleagues I worked with were concerned at how quickly I was losing weight!!!!!

I didn't know anything about the raw lifestyle back then; I was just doing what I thought seemed the best thing to do for health and weight loss. I began to think perhaps I was being too extreme because everybody else had such a problem with it. It wasn't until I stumbled across this site and started researching that I realized my instincts had been right all along.

People find it difficult to accept what they don't understand, and society has been so brainwashed by what's considered good for you that you're never gonna be able to convince 100% of the people 100% of the time.

I just have to be content in the knowledge that I'm doing what's best for me.

Keep intouch with yourself; hope to see more of you around the board

    Hey, Jax, welcome!

You are going to heal and feel so great! Forget people that think you have an eating disorder, the proof is in the pudding, they will see. This board is awesome for support.
    Glad you are here!

Sorry to hear about your pain and non support you get from the people you are around. You will get the support you need here. Don't let others take you down the same road they did last time. I am sure there are many here that are willing to get private e-mails from you. I know I am.Or just to answer you and support you on the board. :)

    Default Hi Jacque!

:) Jacque, I completely know the pain and struggle you face on a day to day basis. I too have FM among other illnesses that leave me challenged each day just to try and work, take care of my kids etc.

Feel free to email me privately if you need support or just someone to vent your frustrations too. As I know it is VERY frustrating to battle through the various symptom of FM.

I am only just starting on my rawfoods journey (January 1 officially). If you would like, we can overcome the hurdles of both the new lifestyle and FM together.

    Best of health and living
