Need some opinions
I've just start at 100% raw today and would like to hear some comments/opinions about how going raw affected your workout. My concern here is that I have to ride 16mi. round trip back and forth to work every day and I'm also going to the gym to lift weight 4 days a week as well as doing a lot of swimming and diving on the weekends.
Now, obvioulsy everyone goes through detox differently, so I know no one can answer for me, but I'd like to know how much going 100% affected your regular workouts. I'm wondering if I'm going to have enough energy to keep up both the workouts and the bike riding. Should I perhaps cut out the lifting for a week or two to allow my body to adjust to 100% raw? I know I should "do what my body feels like doing", but I'm also the sort to really push myself regardless of how tired I get.
I'm wondering if I keep pushing myself to workout and lift if I'll "crash and burn" so to speak.
What kinds of experiences have you all here had with going raw and having it affect your workouts? I would love to hear any sort of suggestions/opinions.
Where am I? And how did I get into this handbasket in the first place!!??

I noticed nobody replied to you, and that disappoints me. I was just getting ready to put the same post up. I mountain bike and lift and I am really curious too. I don't wan tto cut out my physical activities, but before making the decision to eat raw I relied heavily on cooked whole grains for energy before my workouts. Maybe with more than one poster with the same question someone will help us out!

My guess from reading the journals is that several raw folks didn't work out before they went raw. Therefor no basis for comparing. Many seem to be working out now, inorder to build muscle, stamina and create the "shape" of body they want. Some commented that they felt initially lethargic but overcame it as they got more creative with there intake and balanced calories thru the day.
It is, therefore, evident that it is possible to cure by foods, aliments and fruits; but as today the science of medicine is imperfect, this fact is not yet fully grasped. When the science of medicine reaches perfection, treatment will be given by foods, aliments, fragrant fruits and vegetables, and by various waters, hot and cold in temperature.

If you are going raw for the first time, you can expect varying reactions. First there is the detox. During a detox episode, you may not feel like doing a workout at all and if you do, you may be more tired than normal afterwards. How often and how long you get detox episodes depends on your system (everyone's is different). I was getting them every couple of weeks my first 6 months raw, then monthly, then every couple of months. This is close to the 2 year mark for me and I rarely have them now and when I do they are much less intense. I expect to be dealing with them for another couple of years (I read somewhere to expect one year for every decade you ate SAD, since I was 43 when I started I figured on 4 yrs).
Other than detox, the more you stay raw, the more energized your workouts will be and the quicker your recovery times will become. It doesn't always happen all at once but it sneaks up on you. After awhile you will notice that your normal workout was easier than usual. You will begin to want more intensity because you have more energy.
I guess I am saying, at the end of the day, you will be much much better off :)
Hope this helps.
Peace.

I started transitioning to raw about 9 mos ago and have been close to 100% for the past 3 months.I can only think of 2 or 3 times I didn't work out because of detox--my detox has been pretty mild. Otherwise my energy is just fine. I have biked, walked and weight trained for years so I am measuring against my normal energy levels. I am intense in my activities, and just added tennis back in after serveral years hiatus because of a shoulder problem. Shoulder problem resolved with raw!
So for me no problem at all with energy for workout and activities!
