Default Why wheatgrass, not any other grass?

I know Ann Wigmore chose wheatgrass because it was very available and because it grew very fast, but is it the only good grass to juice? You would think that variety would be healthier. I could not find much about nutritional contents too much either, except that it contains 70 percent of chlorophyl of juice's solid mass - but how much of solid mass it has?
Do you know any links with more concrete information?

    Default Grasses

Barley grass and kamut and barley are all also yummy! I think variety is a great idea and we do that ourselves too.

Actually her recommendation was pragmatic... she tried a lot of different things and found that wheatgrass gave the best results.

Others say the same about barley.

Great thread. I love reading anything written by Ann Wigmore. As the other replies pointed out, she did research several grasses before singling out wheatgrass specifically. I do remember reading her cats had a preference for it if I'm not mistaken.

You have all piqued my intereste in trying some of the others. My remote control thinking kicked in on the wheatgrass and I never ventured any further.

Would love to hear of other's experiences with the various grasses.

My cats like this weird clump of ornamental grass in my neigbor's yard... it might be bluegrass. and they like the wild variety of grass, the kind that grows in my yard.

Not into grass myself. Does anyone ever chew it? I mean, can you get out of juicing it? I don't think my juicer could handle it.
