i absolutly LOVE canoeing and try to get in as much as I can every summer. Haven't rafted yet but it's on my list of things to do this summer. Also on the list is learning to kayak.

I've done some wilderness camping, even in -30 in Northern Canada. We had to snowshoe in...I miss those days.

I LOVE all of it! LOVE being outdoors and active. I'm missing the mountains a lot, as I just moved to Dallas from Albuquerque, NM.

The mountains are the only thing I miss about that place, though! It's weird to think that I'll have to go on vacation now to go camping :)

Yup, we enjoy it all too - including any winter sports.

Snowshoeing, skiing, skating, rock climbing, hiking, canoeing, swimming, camping, cycling --- anything as long as it's active, fun and outdoors!

I was raised by two very passionate environmentalists- and don't remember a vacation that didn't involve sleeping under the stars. thankfully, my parents instilled in me an equally profound love and respect for our Earth...I LOVE any activity outside!!! During college, I always had the trunk of my car stocked with camping gear for those spur of the moment excursions-- my favorite place was one that I had to swim across a lake to get to- which I always thought was so much fun and amazing in it's "secretiveness." Now that I have a daughter, I think about how stupid that was to do alone....how things change, eh?---

I love hiking in the general definition but have never done the official hiking with a pack. Kayaking is something I want to try this summer if nck and back allos.

Don't know how to swim b/c I refuse to be under water.

Snorkling would be fun but again, it'sunder water.

rock climbing would be the bombs!!!!!!!!!

    Cool

    Walkin'onWater,

Me too I love it . Back when I was in boyscouts and high adventure I got to go to northern Minnesota and then portaged into canada's boundry waters, I even drink right out of the lake, it was so AWESOME - AND BEAUTIFUL !!
I also went down to Florida Keys for a canoeing trip in the ocean. And going through the mangroves and seeing all these interesting birds and snakes and big bugs and the no seeums coz they have a terrible bit.
I've done all types of camping as well - all four seasons

    karenisraw,
I love camping but I have not been able to do it much for a few years.
I've still gone a little bit but not all to the extreme like I used too!
I was a huge overweight whale for about 15 years and I couldn't do what I loved to do outdoors. Then I lost all that weight and now I'm finally eating properly and cleaning my body out so that I can do these outdoor fun things again :)

    julesmoz,

That does stinks moving to the flat lands so to speak,
It's sorta like northern indiana it's flat - flat. Southern Indiana really hilly, woods, lakes and streams, rivers all close togather, (no mountains). Have to find select places to go free climbing. But trees are everywhere
I went to New Mexico to a place called Philmont. where for two weeks I went Hiking and backpacking and rock climbing and played in the snow on top of the mountain in "july", that was great!!

    simplyraw,
Thankyou for the link that looks like so much fun!!
Have you ever heard of "out of bound courses" in Colorado?

I want to learn how to scuba dive, And take refresher courses in rock climbing, and learn kayaking - I've been pricing kayaks. Since I went to michigan and used some tandem old town kayak on a lake called deer lake. Being in the kayak was more serene than being in a canoe. :)
I been one time rafting in Virginia, but the river was kinda low - but i still had a great time :)

    lane,
I know you there lots of places in indiana to go canoeing?

hey ml here's 2 links for ya that you can pick up some good stuff at low prices, plus some wordage,( is that a word?):

    www.SierraTradingPost.com

I used to be on a swim team when I was younger, I loved to go swiming and floating. Some people just need to learn to breath deeper to expand your lungs and then you can float. When I was a whale my flubber kept me afloat LOL... Here's a trick for you.. when you take your bathes let your head drop down in the water and as it's going down breath "out" of your nose. keep doing that for week or two until your really comfortable with it - even time yourself to see how long you can stay under water. What your doing is changiing your thinking from fear to fun :)
when i went to Floridae keys, we went snorkeling - was so neat - The water was like bath water so warm. I saw these little parrot fish pecking on the corral and eating little parts of it. Under water I also saw stingrays, jelly fish, tarpon, ( this fish are huge - human size), just so many things and multiple colors.
Under water snorkeling we saw this one fish, it was about 3 feet long and about the thickness of a football, it had strips on it. So we decided to follow it around some seeweed and across some vegetation and then through short cave,( you can only hold your breath so long ) after when went through the cave, it turned around and faced us then it opened it's mouth and showed us, that it wanted us to stop following it!!. It's teeth were like "JAWS TEETH", by the time it closed it's mouth I was on the surface and in the boat!!!!! .I'm not getting eaten today!!

    Hi everyone,

I love to hike and bike.

Do a lot out on the Cape. ( Cape Cod)

Ocean kayak is great and a very good workout. We paddle out along the cove here in the preppie colony and then make our way along the shoreline.

Snorkling is great off the coast of Puerto Rico. Also some great trails to hike and eco friendly.

    Peace,

    M.B.
