I add soaked buckwheat seed to my morning green smoothies and don't get hungry for hours. It works well as a low-fat source of protein. Other than that, I eat whatever sounds good for breakfast.

When I sprout the sweet brown rice, the tails appear next day after soaking. I usually eat it that day or the next, keeping leftovers in the fridge. It doesn't taste bitter to me.

Vitamin E is very helpful for alleviating hot flashes so foods rich in it are good. It sounds like you are doing the very best thing, by going raw, to regain your health and prevent any more trouble....

Definitely. They are chewy and good if soaked overnight before allowing to sprout.

One possibility for keeping calorie count up is buckwheat seed. I soak some overnight and add to my green smoothie in the morning. Buckwheat is fairly low fat and has around 140 calories per 1/4 cup....

Hi Cielle, I use barley and it works well. You can soak it until soft and chewy or until little sprout tails appear. Still tastes like somewhat grain-like to me. Wheat berries might work as well....

My local hfs makes this salad and I did a simple version that turned out tasty -
Carrots - chopped in blender
Olive oil
Lemon Juice - to taste
Coriander (ground) - to taste
Clove (dash)

What's interesting is that things taste SO different. I used to dislike romaine because it was bitter tasting. Now it's my favorite lettuce and tastes slightly sweet!

When detoxing, I find that swishing water with baking soda around in my mouth to be helpful in neutralizing the acids coming out. Also drinking lots and lots of water.
